Varsity Fencing and lots of extracurriculars.

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE!!! Dino- surprised you weren't accepted. An adcom told my GC that most students were rejected and only ones that truly have a chance RD were deferred basically because their EA quota was filled and they want to see what the RD pool looks like. Are they learning from their mistakes from last year when it was rumored that about 90% of applicants were deferred which caused great confusion within the admission's office? Who knows. Does anyone know of any rejections? The only other girl that applied EA from my school had a 1300/1600. GPA-90, no honors/AP, basic ECs and she was deferred as well.

IB Diploma Canidate

Upstate NY

Looks like they were looking for SAT scores this year. I was surprised I got accepted considering all these good deferred canidates

miktau-Yeah it looks like you should have gotten in. A lot of times they just can't spill over their quota even by 1 person which was apparently 2,000 out of 27,000. You should get in RD. And congrats with Tulane.

Congrats Pshap.

defered :(
1290 sat
29 act
89avg/3.6 gpa
president of a club and other good ecs
nice reccomendations

And Pshap, you are right. I think EA depends largely on the SAT scores as a "sifter" because I remember reading that that during an interview with the director of admissions she said that after Thanksgiving break is when they would begin to review applications (dec.1st). Is it just me or going through 27,000 applications thoroughly a bit difficult to do in one months time?

ACCEPTED -- Watson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences!!!

GPA: 80.98
SAT: 1300 (CR: 680 | MT: 620)

Upsetting that a lot of people got in who don't intend to go there like I do, but such is life. I was totally expected a rejection anyway.

Congrats to all who made it, and good luck to us who were deferred!

No letter in NYC
Do you guys think that people who do not apply for financial aid have a little better chance of getting in? because of the budget cut stuff.
Also my dad read a article today about Bing's acceptance rate. He told me that for this year, Bing's acceptance rate is even lower than Harvard. idn. Can't find the article, but i will try to find it and give u guys the link.

I think SUNYs are totally need blind since they're a bargain for everyone; even very low income kids can realistically get through on Pell, TAP and loans.

accepted!!! :)
