I was deferred early action but I heard they will start releasing regular admission decisions at the end of Feburary, is this true?

My daughter applied regular decision. I just checked and she has an acceptance notice on the admission status page.

According to their Admission blog, they are releasing about 1500 decisions today. (Mostly students who applied regular decision who meet EA standards–whatever those are.) The rest will hear late March.

I got accepted today (well, yesterday really…I didn’t even know about it until this morning), but only about 1,500 were accepted. The admissions blog claims that those admitted today have the same criteria as those who were admitted EA…I was deferred but I guess they decided to give me a chance! Apparently a lot more people will find out late March though, so don’t get discouraged if you didn’t get in…I got lucky!

UGA has three admission timings. The first is Early Action which was in November where applicants are accepted, deferred or denied on academic info only. In February they do a small amount of acceptance which includes applicants that apply regular decision but have the academics that match the criteria of EA. Sometimes this also includes some EA applicants that were deferred but got enough increase in their test scores to qualify for the EA criteria (UGA will not recalculate the GPA for deferred EA applicants). They will then make the final decision in March (I’ve heard varying rumors but will probably be on or before Friday March 30).

When you say “admission blog” where exactly are you referring to? A link would be helpful! Thanks! :)
