EA deferrals – can you supplement your application in RD?

If an applicant to ND is deferred in the EA round, will ND accept new information such as improved test scores or fall transcripts on the RD decision round?

In other words, if an applicant is deferred in EA is their application frozen “as is” or can more helpful information be added to the applicants file as long as they get it in before the RD deadline?

Yes. My daughter was deferred in December of '12 and proceeded to have an ongoing communication with her regional rep. She never retested, but did add to her application a couple of new honors/awards she received. Also, her counselor was able to supplement his rec when he submitted the mid year report. She will return to South Bend in a couple of weeks for her sophomore year.

Excellent, thank you.

I agree with ejcclc. I’m going to be a freshman next year, and I was deferred and Waitlisted. I got a call in early May that I had been accepted, and cited my constant emails and updates to my application as the way I showed interest. In hindsight, I should have applied regular admissions. If you can send your strongest application early action, go for it. But if you can’t, and could possible polish those essays or add a few points on your sat, I would definitely recommend waiting for regular decision.
