I know 31 is not stellar compared to some, but still want to take a stab at EA.
Good idea? Bad idea?

Shoot, I want to say yes but I just am being held back with the ACT. My vote is no, but it is very close, and given how cautious I am with EA that says a lot. Regardless, given your stats, I say it is up to you and I don't think you will get hurt either way, and I am pretty sure that there will be several people behind me (Docmom, lol) who will vote yes. Go with your gut, honestly!

My daught got a 31 and will apply early admission. If she doesn't get in than it's divine providence. My daughter's average is 99 Rank top 5% or better will know the end of the week. Her SAT's were 1420/2130. Many service EC Secretary of prolife. Steubenville young apostle, ND summer program in Theology, Nat'l MErit commended at least. Nat'l Honor Society YEarbook editor worked 3 days a week since she was 14. Holy Cross Book AWard LEadership awards etc. Her great uncle was a priest and professor there in the siixties( I am finally going to visit his grave this weekend when we go to ND to drop her off). I think your daughter will be fine esp with the legacy. WHat about the SAT's has she taken them will she? GOod Luck and let's pray for each other.

I think you are close enough that applying EA would not hurt you. The worst EA decision I would predict would be deferral. Especially since you are legacy, I believe you have a shot. I'd say go for EA.

KR, I think that is an awesome idea; prayer works! Sounds like your d has a lot of the intangibles and spiritual pursuits ND would value. My d is not taking the SAT, as we have to drive 50 miles to get to a testing site, as opposed to 2 within 5 miles for the ACT.

ddjones, my daughter will be applying as well, and my husband was ND '84. I was SMC '84. What a small world! Good luck to your daughter. Her stats look great. It's tough on these kids these days isn't it??? Glad I did this when I did! All the best!
