just confirming if what it says on the website is true - that EA is even more selective than RD? how could this be? hahaha and if so, why WOULD you apply EA… even the thought of knowing early you’ll be going is that tempting…

In order to qualify for whatever their big scholarship is, you have to apply EA.

you know early, its lets bc know that they are at the top of the list, and you also get a second shot if you are deffered. i am so happy i applied ea, now im in and i know and dont really have to worry anymore

so you don't qualify for any merit aid at ALL if you apply RD to BC? :(

Nope. They only have one scholarship, and it's during the EA round.

and it only goes to 15 people, so the chances of getting is are....slim.

still tho...full tuition at BC is a huuge prize! But I'm far from eligable...I'm just praying I get in...based on everyone else's result it seems like I'm right on the fence of acceptance/deferral....and It seems like I'm about the last person to hear lol

all the PSP kids basically got into at least one Ivy, most of them more than one. A kid in my physics class got into Yale and chose BC PSP over it.

So...if you apply at BC EA and get deferred, do you have less of a chance than the kids who applied RD and have a ~31% acceptance rate? Or is it a better chance b/c you got considered twice? I'm a little confused here.

I dont think its better to have been considered twice, I think you can just think about being equal to everyone who applied RD now. Does anyone know the stats on if there was a rise in EA apps or not, it was probably in the Heights and I missed it.

ckmets13--so even though only 20% of the deferred kids are accepted in RD, they have the same chance (~31%) as the people who applied RD?

Sorry...I'd really like to believe that but it just doesn't look right to me. ??? If anyone can say for sure that deferred people have the same chance as an RD applicant, please let me know b/c that would be great if it's true.

theyre going to consider your application in the RD pool, and I believe that they dont care if you were deferred or if you didnt apply early. if the RD pool is strong, less deferred people get in, if its relatively weak then more deferred people get in.
