EA Notification Date?

Does anyone know when we’ll be finding out if we got in EA?

They say “Mid December”. Last year the decisions were posted to the portal on the evening of 12/14.

From the CC threads it was December 18, 2013 for the class of 2018 via a letter for US and email for Int’l.

For 2012 , it was December 14 email to Int’l and posters report letters on December 15th.

Is there an ND portal??? My daughter never received any kind of portal, but she did call to find out her application was complete.

Just referenced my daughter’s email from Notre Dame that indicated her application was complete. This is what it said about the communication of decisions:

Decisions will be released in mid-December for Restrictive Early Action. You’ll receive further information on how to access your decision online in early December.

I asked about this. There’s no ND admissions portal. All you get is what is described in #4 above.

@northwesty Whoever you asked was wrong. Just take a look at the hundreds of posts on the CC Notre Dame EA Class of 2020 thread from last year. Decisions are posted to the portal (Applicant Status Page). Last year, login information was sent a week before decisions were released. My DD was able to access her decision on Mon. 12/14 in the early evening (6 p.m.).

My current REA kid has received no portal instructions or log on info like we’ve gotten for most other schools.

Because we’d received zero instructions, we asked the ND admissions rep about that in October. Rep said they were having system issues for this year. All we have so far is an email saying the app is complete and we will hear more in early December. Same email as quoted above in #4.

So there’s no portal to access or log into now as there is at most other schools. TBD what happens in December.

I think riverboat stated “Last year, login information was sent a week before decisions were released.” So I would imagine the week of December 5th we will get an email and link to access the portal.

I’m currently a freshman at Notre Dame who was admitted REA, so here is what happened. On the 7th, Notre Dame sent out an email reminding you that REA decisions would be released in mid-December. It also included a link to your Application Status Page. This is the same portal that was used if you applied to ND summer programs. Notre Dame decisions themselves came out one week later on the 14th, at 6:42pm ET (the year ND was founded in military time). They email everybody that decisions were released just after 7pm ET. You login, then see your decision. Let me know if you have any questions.

@ihistorygeek Thanks so much!

ND sent out emails to log into the admissions portal on Wednesday Dec 7th at 8:50 ET and I got mine. No news about the actual release date.

yeah I got that email too last night ^ I think that last year that email was sent out 7 days before the decisions were released, not sure if it will be the same this year

I wish they gave out a specific date like many other schools do… It’s really suspenseful and frustrating not knowing if I’m in or not AND not knowing when I’ll find out.

My regular decision was announced via email into portal.

All I will say is, just be glad they don’t do the mail thing anymore. The stress was unreal.

@plaidpants5 I can confirm that last year the pre-decision email (the portal one) on the 7th and then released them on the 14th. Last year they released the Monday of Finals week, which would be this Monday. My guess is either Monday or Wednesday.

@ihistorygeek were you, by any chance, an RC for this year’s summer programs?

@silverdrop They would send an email stating that the attached PDF file contains your decision. And from that moment on, your heart will start racing and you will probably think a million times before opening that attachment! And when you finally gather some courage to open the file and when you see the file loading, you will not believe you actually did that! Exciting, it would be. I wish they continued the practice. :wink:
And then they would start mailing the decisions out to American applicants…

@11kysta Nope.
