EA Notification for the Class of 2018

Also… Spire was updated today… Although the packet was mailed on 12/26.

Just got the packet-$5,000 scholarship. Not bad for in-state!

Collegeris - $6k per year.

Got accepted today (the wait felt over-long)
33 ACT
Central MA - Instate
Dean’s scholarship + Honors college
A very financially viable option! It is nice to see my parent’s tax dollars coming back to me in a positive way.

Just curious has anyone in state received more than a Dean’s Scholarship?
If so could you post your stats. My S got accepted with a Dean’s and Honors Coll.
ACT 33, Top of class, good EC’s.

Accepted to Isenberg School of Management!

From CA (oos)
SAT: 2060 / 1270
GPA: 4.17(W)/3.98(UW)
Caucasian Male
$10,000 Chancellor’s Scholarship

Visiting in April, which will help me decide if I could actually relocate to the cold or not :P

buriedindebt – I have not heard of anyone in-state getting more than the Dean’s. I got into Commonwealth and Dean’s scholarship w/ 34 ACT 3.83 GPA as well. UMASS is stingy to in-staters with regard to merit/fin aid.

Hopefully your kid did well in MCAS. They offer the John/Abigail Adams scholarship which I think I already received notice of, that is a tuition waiver. That saves you about $1000 additionally.

I was admitted on 12/15 as a Hospitality Management major. My first choice was Marketing but that has a strict 3.5 minimum GPA.
-3.1 Unweighted GPA
-1820 SAT (650 reading, 650 math, 520 writing)
-Received a $6000/year scholarship

Congrats to everyone on their acceptances!

Admitted into nursing with a $10,000 scholarship. Not accepted into Honors College :frowning:
3.59UW/4.18W
2100 SAT
Out of State
ECs: Band, Concert Band, internship at hospital, church activities

Pretty decent Common App essay
Caucasian female

Yay! Congratulations to everyone else!

when did you submit your application?
congrats!

andrew8765,

Very stingy with the aid for in state tax payers. Fraud!

one thing that does annoy me is how umass tells some out of state kids about acceptance before some in state. Not asking for preferance with acceptance just timing of acceptance/non acceptance for instate studnets. Wondering what others think.

Is there anyway to get into the honors college(Isenberg) after applying? I applied EA with a 3.4/3.7 GPA an a 25 ACT, and am still waiting to here back.

But…

I recently got a 2020 on my SAT, and i’ve gotten all A’s this first semester. Can I submit my new SAT? Do I have to call the admissions office or somthing? Is it too late?

help please!

@Collegetiger: I agree, I’m in state and still haven’t been notified!

When did you apply? I’m not sure if that’s allowed. I would email your admissions counselor ASAP. Usually your test scores/transcripts have to be in by a specific date.

Are you replying to me? If so, everyone at my school is still waiting besides two people, so I don’t think it’s a big deal! Just frustrating haha.

So I just checked my spire and it now changed to they are reviewing my application now… omg I am so nervous! Does that mean I should be getting my letter this coming week?

tiannarose14:

It said reviewing months ago on ours and still waiting…i am guessing within a week or two. Good luck!

Not seeing too many rejections on here. I would not worry. Any Isenberg accepted stats out there?

Have not heard anything. It’s very frustrating. in state. One of the top public schools, low gpa, sat 1990(610cr, 700m, 680w). submitted Oct.29.
