It says on the PC website that we will hear early January about decisions and looking at last year's thread that was also the case. But I just saw a blog from Scott Seseke on the site that says letters will be mailed out December 17. I hope we find out before Christmas, I can't take all this waiting anymore!

update - D got an email saying letters will be mailed out on the 16th.

Good luck to your daughter. Waiting is such an anxious time! D is a freshman at PC and is glad she chose it.

Thanks wirefox! It sure is an anxious time. PC has been very helpful though and very forthcoming with information. I wish all schools were like this.

westie22: Is PC your daughter’s first choice? My daughter did EA but at the time it was not her first choice…she really didn’t have a favorite school. Process of elimination over a 4 month period and PC was the only school left standing in the end.

My D is in a very similar situtation as yours was. She doesn’t really have a clear favorite, but about 4 or 5 that really stand out for her. She truly feels that she could be happy at any one of them. Once she gets all the decisions back she will go back and visit the ones that she is accepted to.

On another note, wirefox, the one concern my D has about PC is the “party” reputation.
She is not a drinker and worries about fitting in. How has your daughter coped so far?

So who’s getting excited/nervous about decisions? They will be mailed tomorrow according to their twitter. Cant wait to find out!!

Good luck to your daughter westie! Sending her good wishes and thoughts.

Thanks Wirefox! She needs good news, she was just deferred from Northeastern.

I’m sorry to hear that. How many schools did she apply to EA? I think deferrals and wait lists are such lousy answers to receive. Drags the whole process on and on. Keeping my fingers crossed for her.

She applied EA to 3 and she won’t hear back from the last one until after New Year. She did get accepted into UVM because she filled out a vip application and heard back immediately. It was so weird, she applied on Sunday and we heard back on Thursday??? How could they have even looked over her app? Anyway, it’s not a very viable option for her because of how hard it is to get there and back. It’s a 5 hr drive (no airports nearby or easy to get to) and involves lots of bus and/or train switching, but we will check it out anyway.

And apparently, tons of kids were deferred at NEU, only a handful actually denied. I hate that they are doing that because it’s just prolonging the agony.

Westie, if NEU refers to Northeastern, I’m shocked. I know three or four guys personally and (and several more on the grapevine) who were accepted to Northeastern. That said, the High School that the accepted attend (with me) is considered one of the best Academically in NJ.
As to all who applied to Providence, Good Luck. I too am waiting for the decision letter.

@illumpirenj - Yes, many were accepted, but they had a record number of EA applicants this year. But for whatever reason they decided to defer the majority instead of outright denials. They said they want to compare them with the RD pool and they are still viable candidates. But now they still have twice as many people to deny now. My D also attends one of the top HS in our state and several were accepted, around 20 deferred, not one was denied.

Providence College mailed out everything today, read it right on their facebook page so we should be hearing back early this week. Very nervous, good luck to everyone!
