EA Notification

Are EA notifications likely to be posted at midnight tomorrow? Wondering if it is worth staying up to see.

Yeah. I think if you on the east coast it is at midnight, but if you’re on the west coast like me, it’s 9 pm. At least I’m pretty sure.

I’ve heard that in years past handful of applicants got phone calls from the Admissions Office on the evening before results are posted. This year, that would be tonight!

Good luck!

They post them online at 11:59 pm. Just know that Elon OnTrack always crashes when they release admissions decision because of the high volume of traffic on the server, which makes it impossible to log on until a later time. Just keep refreshing, though, and you’ll see your decision eventually!

Good luck. (:

My D received a phone call earlier this evening…

PLEASE don’t be upset if you have not rcvd a phone call. My son applied ED - and we really thought we would get a call from our regional rep back on November 30. As the hours ticked by and the call did not materialize - we were very worried. But - he was accepted. So - you MIGHT get a call - but if you don’t - it means nothing.

Thank you Rockvillemom…no need to panic if there isn’t a call. My d will be checking at midnight, and we are confident that she will be accepted.

Oliverlucas: did your d withdraw her application after being accepted ED back on November 30th to William and Mary as is required with an ED acceptance?

I just got in! I’m so excited! does anyone know if scholarship stuff is listed on OnTrack? Or will it come in the acceptance packet?

Congrats! I just was just admitted as well! My scholarship was listed on OnTrack directly under the “admissions status”. I also received an email and it said that a packet would be coming in the mail shortly.

D was deferred…surprisingly. Weighted gpa 4.22, ACTs 29 composite, SATs 660/590. 4 year varsity swim/captain, 4 years field hockey/captain, NHS Historian, class officer, consistant community service through our church. She is also well with top 10% of her class. Guess we will just send in grades after the semester ends and hope for the best!
Thankfully she has some other excellant options.

My D got in. :)

My son got in. Does anyone know if it’s recommended that we make the $500 deposit even before he has decided if he’s going there or not. I know that housing assignments are based on the date the deposit is made. The letter says it’s fully refundable until May 1st but I wasn’t sure if he should wait until he knows for sure that he’s going to Elon before making the deposit. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

My understanding is that housing is guaranteed for freshman - so it’s not like a huge public university where you have to put in a deposit to be sure you will have on campus housing. So - there is really no need to deposit early. On the other hand - if you think he might end up at Elon and he would like to have some degree of priority in dorm selection - there is no harm in making the deposit so that you can “get in line” for housing - as it is refundable before May 1.

The earlier you deposit, the earlier in line your son will be to select his choice of dorms. Not sure why I would not send in the deposit.

Was disappointed when I got deferred last night. What do you think my chances of getting in Regular Decision are?

^^contact with your admissions rep is key. Make sure they know your intent ( assuming you would attend if admitted)…

lbg678: that’s surprising that you got deferred, your SATs are well above their average. i still think you’ve got a strong chance of getting in regular decision. i’m Jewish too, so if i go there i would like to have more Jews there with me! Happy Hanukkah by the way :)

This years EA SAT avg was 1965; ACT 29…but Elon is not all about stats; never was…

the admissions blog for EA is posted on another thread…stats lifted from there

Just logged in to my Tulane account and found out I was accepted! Felt pretty good after being deferred from Elon last night. College admissions are so confusing…
