I definitely want to apply to Georgetown next year. I am currently a junior in a public high school. What would be a better decision? Is it easier to get into the GU when you apply early decision/early action? Or, applying Regular Decision? Also, I want to major in political science/government if it helps.

Apply Early Action, Gtwon doesn’t offer ED and there’s no penalty for applying EA except possibly getting a decision earlier. And since you already know you want to apply, why not?

Applying early action was so much better.
I did my interview ealier, got my essays done earlier, had my whole resume done
so it not only made my january 1st applications easier but i had peace of mind
knowing by december 15th that i had already been admitted into one of the best
universities in the nation

It is harder to be admitted EA, which is different from binding ED programs at other colleges where it is easier to be admitted early. As noted above, no one gets rejected EA at Georgetown, they just get deferred for regular cycle consideration. Therefore there is no down side.

Look for colleges that offer rolling admissions or non-binding EA and apply to them. You will feel much better in January if you have a few great choices guaranteed, without having to sweat until the final decisions come back on March 30th. By the way, UVa will offer EA next year.

There’s really no downside to applying early except that you can’t apply ED to any other school (though you can apply EA). My advice is to apply early to as many schools as possible.

EA also shows a strong interest in the school. It also is more likely to get attention, vs. the flood of last minute applications right before the regular decision deadline.
