I'm looking to apply to a few schools. I'm debating whether I should put these schools in for early or for regular. Can anyone tell me if I have higher chance getting in ea or reg or each of these schools? I thought ea always increased chances but i heard getting into BC is easier when applying regular.

anyways can anyone tell me if it is better to go early or reg for these schools

BC
Wake Forest
UNC Chapel Hill
U Chicago
Georgetown
Villanova

Villanova is favorable for EA, Georgetown is not. UChicago is probably tough either way as they’ve improved their rankings recently, but equally. Not familiar w/ BC’s history.

I also read (probably on CC!) that the early pool is more competitive at BC than the regular pool. The point of early action, I think, is to give you an acceptance early at a school maybe in the middle of your list so you can drop everything below it before January 1 applications are due. So you don’t want to aim too high and not get anything EA. On the other hand, if the EA school is on the bottom of your list that doesn’t help you much. I doubt if applying EA increases your chances at top schools. Maybe at more medium schools. I have read that it helps at U Conn, for example.

hmm a dilemma…so i guess ill be applying to georgetown regular and ill think about bc…

just curious, how do you think i will do EA for bc with these stats.
GPA ~4.3 / 5 seems low but im like in top 5%
SATS: 2110 (takin october) if i just do decent on math, near 2200
Decent ECs
Good Essay

Yeah this is hypotheical and generic but just by looking at scroes, do you think itll be foolish of me to EA BC?

Chapel Hill is much better EA than RD. They take the view if you were dilatory applying there in the first place, its not high on your list…so they aren’t that excited about admitting you. Its their culture over there.

In general I say EA is non binding and thus you have little to lose and everything to gain. Even if you are deferred, you get a second look see. And if rejected, you scratch it off and move along, without waiting on them until April.

Do your favorite school first…in descending order. Make all of them your best effort and be careful not to sound disingenuous or canned responses.

If applying to BC and Georgetown and Villanova, then why not apply to Fordham EA too? They might give you money! Fordham is a really good school. Well worth looking at. Ping me.
