EA question plz helpz

if i apply EA and another girl applied EA from my school as well with better grades and test scores and good student government leadership positions but no math and science awards (which I have) and I also have leadership positions but in smaller clubs, which one would MIT like better. her test scores and grades are better but not by any noticeable amount. also if mit's never really taken anyone from my school cept people with real hooks would they accept two people EA one year? i doubt it rite

MIT doesn’t compare students from the same school against each other, so the fact that someone else from your school is applying means absolutely nothing for your application. You will have the same shot at admission as you would if no one else from your school were applying.

Also, don’t worry so much about the fact that your school doesn’t usually have people go to MIT. I was the second person to apply/get in to MIT EVER from my school (which is strongly humanities based). It’s not going to count against you.

It didn’t even occur to me that some schools routinely send students to MIT until I got there and met multiple people from the same school.

In addition to what has already been said, MIT does not care if your leadership positions were in student government or not. In fact, MIT doesn’t really care about your titles. It does care about what you did in your student groups, whether they were student government or not, and whether you had an official title or not.

But we can’t actually predict which of you MIT will like better with any reasonable accuracy. We’re not the ones reading the apps. We hardly have any info to go on (and no, reciting more stats at us is unlikely to help).
