EA question

i plan on applying EA to both BC and Villanova next year. in a hypothetical situation, if i was accepted EA to villanova and deferred EA from BC i would want to apply RD to BC. how long do you typically have to make a commitment for EA? would i have to reapply to villanova in RD?

If you apply EA to any school and are deferred, your application automatically is considered when they look at the RD applications for that school. You do not need to reapply if you are deferred. If you are denied for EA you cannot reapply for RD.

You do not have to let an EA school know your decision until it is time for the RD accepted students to let the school know--usually May 1st.

Hey I'm applying to the same schools next year EA and I was wondering this same thing this morning.

hah, i applied EA to both these schools this year. thankfully i was accepted to both so i didnt have to worry but id be happy to help you guys out

if you are denied EA, you cant reapply that year and will not be considered again. if you are deffered, you have another shot at getting in during RD. EA they only take the kids they KNOW are going to be in the top end of the applicant pool and push the other qualified ones to RD to see how the rest of the pool comes out (or at least i think). you never know whats going to happen after getting deffered: could get accepted, denied, or waitlisted. ive heard of all three happening at these two schools in my hs this year so best of luck.

hopefully youll get accepted to both EA and get to make the decision that best fits you. theyre both amazing schools, deciding between them really drove me crazy for a while. best of luck!

um, isn't BC restricted early action, as in you can only apply to said school early action and no others. i think that's what it said on Collegeboard.

hmmm that seems to jog my memory...crap. oh well it's not too big of a deal, BC is my number one anyway.

anyone else hear of this?

No, the only restriction on BC's EA is you can't apply anywhere ED and BC EA. You can apply to as many EA schools as you want for BC.

That is correct, AM17

really??? is it the same for all other schools on collegeboard that say "Early Action - Restricted"

How do schools know if you apply somewhere else ED?

schools trade information and you're probably supposed to tell them on the application. why, irishblues, want to cheat the system?

wait... then whats the point in applying for EA-Restricited? is there a better chance at getting in?

finding out the decision earlier????

Haha no I was just wondering.
