EA Responses

We received acknowledgements in the mail from two EA schools that my son applied to online. So we know that they now have the application and the teachers and GC said they sent in their components of the application.

So now we wait.

Here are my questions...for a 11/1 EA where they say they let you know by 1/1, do they wait until the end of that period to send out all decisions? Do they send out all at the same time? Or if it's obvious that the candidate is a clear admit or reject, do they let you know sooner? Can you see online if you've been accepted? Is there anything that my son should do during this period to increase his chance of admission? For one of them, the rep is coming to the HS in December to do interviews. Should he let the University know that he has an interview set up (he already went this summer to the school for an interview, however, it wasdone by a student).

If it's a college with ED, but he is applying regular, is there any advantage / disadvantage to getting the application in now? Is it better to wait and potentially have more to add to the application? Or should he just get them all sent in and be done? After a student has applied, should he continue to go to all the 'events' for that university?

Sorry for all the questions, haven't seen anyone address these areas.

If he's applying RD, it won't make any difference whether he submits the application a month ahead of time, or a few days ahead of time; the admissions committee won't look at the applications until after the deadline.

Some universities will release the acceptance/rejection results online. I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I believe each student is given an ID number and password at some point when they're applying, and when the results are released, the student would sign in on the website and view the decision.
