EA Supplement Help

I'm quite confused. For the common app Harvard writing supplements, it states: "You may wish to include an additional essay if you feel that the college application forms do not provide sufficient opportunity to convey important information about yourself or your accomplishments." However, if I do write the essay, I have no idea where to submit my research paper (which is what I actually want to submit). Do I just submit my research paper as the "essay". Do I submit an essay and my research in one document? Or can I not submit my research paper?

@Calvin689111‌ - You can submit the research paper (or an abstract) as supplemental materials, see <a href=“Application Requirements | Harvard”>https://college.harvard.edu/admissions/application-process/application-requirements/supplemental-application-materials

I would not recommend submitting your research as your optional essay.

@BldrDad‌ - it says to upload the paper to “the Upload Materials section of the applicant status portal.” I can’t find that on CommonApp… Where is it?

Read the page again - the instructions say to use Slideroom and provide a link to the Harvard Slideroom account.
