darwise2012 - That isn’t enough info to go on. W or UW GPA? AP classes? EC’s? Did you apply EA? Did you complete all the essays? Even with that info of course none of us can really tell you. I can say with some certainty that while those stats (and again stats are not enough) are around Tulane’s average and so should be OK if everything else is good, your app probably needs a review by more than the admissions counselor. In other words, some people that have heard back within a few days have 2200+ SAT’s, 3.8+ UW GPA, lots of EC’s etc. For Tulane those are relatively easy decisions.

However, freaking out will do you no good at all. Try to just relax and be patient. Probably your chances are good if you have shown interest in Tulane by visiting or going to local events, communicating with your admissions counselor, or signaled them in some other way like your essays that Tulane is someplace you really want to be.

GPA: (I go to a very competitive private school highly regarded that deflates the GPA) Everything is unweighted.: 3.4 (average from my school for tulane is a 3.5)
Essay: Very Good
Recs: Very Good

OK, confused a little about the GPA, is it 3.4 or 3.6? But no matter, I would think your chances are pretty good. I would quit worrying and try to just be patient.

I applied single choice early action back in early october and still haven’t heard anything. Should i be worried??

Also my grandpa graduated from there and i have visited the campus and i have went to every meeting they have had in Florida

Well, no sense in worrying because there is nothing you can do to influence things now anyway. Stats-wise you are probably borderline, that ACT score is on the low side. Not sure if your school offered AP and you didn’t take them or they just were not offered. The latter is OK, the former not as good. Obviously the legacy and the strong interest help. You might get deferred to the RD pool depending on what they are seeing in applications this year. That is my best guess, which of course is all it is, a guess.

yea with my school they wouldn’t let me take the AP classes because i had to meet certain scores. Few people are able to because of my schools high standards. But with my classes it shows that from freshman year my classes went from one honnors to all honors my senior year.

i just found out on gibson that i got in!!! my stats are on the other thread, but oh my god i am so happy. this has been my dream school for a VERY long time. now i just need to see if they give me any merit money hahaha

Got in w. 17k yearly scholarship. Needless to say I was very surprised

Congrats gomeimrad :)

I’m getting super nervous. It’s only been three weeks but my friend just heard back and she only had her app in for two weeks. My other friend also heard last night and has had it in for the same amount of time. Should I be at all concerned??? =

If you are a borderline applicant, they may be waiting to decide what to do with you! I wouldn’t worry too much though! It could easily be that your app has been lost in the shuffle.

Thanks for the fast answer :)

What do you think would qualify as a borderline applicant?

Admissions has been very active with their tweets today and the message is not to read anything into the time it takes. They have so many to get through and are saying at this point it is almost random in terms of who hears when. They also said if you have any concerns about your app being incomplete or lost feel free to write or call.

I had my tour today.

I’m pretty sure I haven’t stopped smiling in 8 hours or so.

Butaneveins smiling is a good sign! lol

I agree! The admissions counselor that I had an informational session with said something along the lines of “Wow! Usually, I have to try to tell people why they should come here and convince them to apply, but you’ve already gotten in AND you already know everything I could possibly tell you. I can really tell you want to go here.” Hahaha.

Accepted!!! :D

640 m
640 r
600 w

3.7 gpa

single choice ea in sep havent heard back :(

has anyone been deferred yet?

Have you checked with admissions to make sure nothing is missing with your app or that it didn’t get “lost”?

My daughter has applied EA. A good friend also applied EA and received her acceptance Nov. 22nd with a half scholarship. We have not heard anything. Her application is complete. Her class rank is 1, SAT- r720, m700, w720. She is an AP scholar with honors and has 8 additional AP classes this year. She is a commended merit scholar. This is her first choice school and we are so stressed to not hear anything. Any idea of the process here?
