Tulane does not publish these numbers. My best guess is 5-7% of the incoming class was offered the Presidential.

Wooohoo!!! Accepted. Waiting for my letter to see if I got merit. I think I’m going!!!

Thanks! My dad called the finaid office and they basically said the same thing. This is making my case for going here so much better (my parents- especially my mom- have been hesitant since it costs so much). I’m thinking of going to the Destination Tulane on April 2, but that’s just because its the first day of my spring break and I actually want to go somewhere for spring break this year, lol. I’ve basically decided that I’m going here but you never know

Does anyone know if Tulane will notify via gibson before dec 15 if you are not accepted?

Is the DHS worth applying to if you didn’t get the Presidential? I got Distinguished btw

Fortefan - yes, if you applied EA they will tell that you were accepted, rejected or deferred to RD. If they defer you then you might not know until April 1.

FutureVP - yes, it is worth it, although it does make the odds a bit longer. But Distinguished recipients have won before on the strength of really good projects, according to an admissions counselor I spoke with at a Tulane function this last spring.

But if I was deferred EA do i have to wait til i get the letter on dec 15 or do they ever post deferrals on gibson before Dec 15?

Not sure about that, but no later than Dec 15, and that is only one week.

I’m afraid to check gibson. When would be the latest I’d receive a piece of mail?

What’s your password? We will check for you :)

I got in and got the $27K scholarship. I haven’t visited yet, but I’m sure a lot of you have. What about it made you apply EA?

I applied in early October and my app has been marked as complete for ages, but no decision yet. I know we have a few more days, but do you think this means I am a borderline case likely to be deferred or rejected? Ahhhhh… I really thought I had a good chance at Tulane. I’m so nervous now!

I’m in a similar boat. I applied a few days before the EA deadline and it’s been marked complete since then. I’m hoping because I wasn’t denied yet that it may be a good sign…maybe their comparing us to other applicants.

It seems like they give so much money to people… so I’m hoping because I don’t need money that maybe that’ll help my chances.

JSK. This is merit money, not need money. It is completely unrelated as to whether you will be asking for financial aid. And while Tulane is extremely generous with merit aid, don’t forget that you see a very selective and therefore skewed picture on CC.

I applied at the end of October, so I thought I would of heard by now. I’m well aware that I’m a “borderline” applicant, but you never know with some private universities like Tulane. We will see by Thursday!

I got deferred

C32, can you please share your stats?

I was also deferred. Interestingly enough Iowa and Oregon rejected me, while U of New Hampshire was the other one to defer me. Interesting. . .

Deffered
Kinda disappointed because idk what was wrong with my application.
