Yes he heard at the beginning of March.
He did a bunch of stuff between December and now. Initially he did not write the “Why Tulane?” essay (it was a bad fall for our family) but he did submit it after the fact. He also contacted his regional admission officer and sent an additional letter of recommendation.
Don’t worry. Things do seem to be moving.</p>

<p>There isn’t much you can do at this point, other that send an e-mail to your admissions counselor telling them how much you want to go to Tulane and why. But at this stage the movement from one list to another depends heavily on how many admitted students say “yes” to Tulane, which is totally out of your control. It is unfortunately less likely to get in from the wait list this year (if the normal number of students that were admitted accept Tulane’s offer) since they are trying to shrink the class by about 100-150 students. That is because each of the last two classes were about that many over target.</p>
