My app was complete Oct. 14th. Should I be hearing soon? Seems like a bunch of people have already been accepted. I thought I was a pretty solid candidate, so i don’t think they would want to “wait and see”, but I don’t know…I’d really like to know if I was accepted so I can start working on the DHS project.

If you are truly of DHS caliber, you will no doubt be accepted. You might want to check with your admissions counselor and double check you applied EA. People have erred this way in the past only to find out too late.

I definately applied EA, and I think I might be competitive for DHS (2300, 3.8, published research, three languages, etc), I’m just worried they may have thought I’m using it as a safety and reject me? Its happened a lot at my school

Show Tulane the love and they will take you seriously and not think you are using it as a safety

Applying for the DHS shows you are serious as well, but Tulane tends to take all EA apps seriously. Based on your summary of your resume, you do seem competitive for the DHS.

As far as you not having an answer yet, it could just be that your admissions counselor has been traveling. I am sure you will hear soon. If you don’t hear by Thursday, try dropping your admissions counselor an e-mail. There is nothing wrong with politely asking if they have everything and that if you are correctly classified as EA. You may have done it perfectly right, but mistakes can happen at the other end.

My application showed complete online about a week ago. Around when should I see an admissions decision?

Very soon if you are EA and you are an obvious admit. Otherwise hard to say.

My app was marked as complete on Oct. 24 and I heard back Oct. 28!

Just submitted my application on 10/28. Still waiting on GC to send school report and transcripts. They are going by mail from South Florida, might take a few days. Hoping to see a decision before Thanksgiving!

applied ten or so days ago and just got marked complete today. i’m also hoping to find out before thanksgiving; it’d be nice to be able to tell everyone i’m in somewhere haha

Does anyone know how long it takes them to send out Password and ID to check status? My S applied last week but just sent in all other required info today… do they wait to receive all of your material to send out passwords?

I got mine shortly after submitting my online application. Within a day

D also got hers within a day, and app is still incomplete - HS hasn’t submitted anything yet.

Can’t remember the sender on the original ID/PW email, but D mistakenly deleted it and had to ask for a new ID/PW - that email came from Gibson_Support@Tulane. Maybe your S missed the email because of the unfamiliar sender?

The email I got with my password was from TulaneUniversity@tulaneinfo.org.

My application was marked complete on the 24th and I still havent heard back yet from Tulane. Is this a bad sign? Also I am from NJ so idk if that has an effect or not

The 24th is only a week ago! Have some patience, people. It isn’t a sign of anything that you have not heard yet.

I submitted my application a little less than a month ago and submitted my transcripts and recommendations about a week and a half ago. My status was updated on Oct. 24 on Gibson (which I check religiously, lol) to completed. I am stressing over it. I have a lower ACT score (26) and an average GPA (3.6ish) but I believe my extracurriculars will catch their eyes. Plus, I have LOTS of volunteer experience, have had 2 jobs in high school, student athletic trainer (which has influenced my career decision) and wrote some pretty stellar essays. Do you think my chances are good. I applied Single Choice EA and I am a Louisiana resident.

I spoke with Tulane Admissions today as I had the same question as you. I was told my son should have received an email shortly after his initial submission, which for us was over a week ago, with a user name and password for him to sign onto the “Gibson” system, where he could follow the course of his application. The reason I called so soon was because my son’s counselor told me today that he had sent in his material and I was wondering what, if anything, we would receive to confirm this.

I was told that Tulane has had a problem with some of these emails going into students Spam folders, so check there or just bouncing back for reasons unknown. I was advised to send an email to “interns@tulane.edu” with 1) my son’s name; 2) his DOB; 3) his parent’s names and 4) his home address with a request for access and that they would reset his password and send him an email with Gibson info within 2 - 3 days.

I was also told that the turnaround time for material being logged in was currently running 2 - 4 weeks, so those of you waiting, be patient. No surprise, he told me that the volume of applications is steadily increasing as the early application deadline approaches.

Hope this info helps.

Finally, congratulations to all those who have been accepted and good luck to those of you who are awaiting the decision.

At this point, I’d be thrilled for a decision by thanksgiving, because it doesnt look like ones coming anytime soon. I’ll email them tomorrow, though, just to make sure everythings good.

THANK YOU so much twoby2013!!! This helped a lot. I will send an email right away.
