i wasnt in the honors college, unless that notification comes lateR??

Hi all
First time posting so if I mess up -forgive me
I'm just nervous after hearing about all these acceptences and I applied in October and have not heard yet. I applied to the School of Agriculture-Animal Science.
My stats are SAT 1200 and 630 writing
91.3 GPA
last 2 years took all AP courses and my average for 10th and 11th and first quarter of 12th is about 97. Messed up 9th grade. Hope that isn't held against me.

So why haven't I heard -I hate this waiting game. Wonder if Animal Science is harder or easier to get into?

Did you receive something from UConn letting you know that they received everything? My son applied in early October and other than the initial email that the application was received, he has not heard a thing (but they did cash my check). Thanks

no, it wasnt only honors kids- it's a mix of honors, and different schools applied to... they inform you if you're accepted into honors in the first letter

palermo- I received an email confirming that my application was complete... (they send it directly to the email put on the application )except they sent it to me over a month after all of my materials were sent in (i'm instate, so it takes only a few days to get there)... so either they waited a long time to send it to me, or my application and materials sat there for over a month before being put together

any1 know how the honors college notification works???

Doogie-

they notify you of honors in your first admissions letter...it's not a separate letter.

hm o well...

If you sent your app over the internet it will be looked at quicker and you will know quicker, that was the case last year. They said feb. notification for EA but in reality its staggered with the last people finding out in feb. Honors college invitation is given to you in your original acceptance letter.

hey bigndude, quick question...what is the avg class size at uconn...and is it easy to talk to your professors and get help on things you dont understand?

As a science major to another science major...lol

Intro science classes are big, just like any school. Bio was 300-400 people and chem 300. However if you wanted to talk to the professor is was extremely easy and both bio and chem professor were willing to give you help if you asked. My profs for both were extremely good.

did you feel lke just a number or did your professor know u by name

Unless you make a rediculous effort professors will not know you by name. They say so, and you see why. Its just not possible, there are too many students. If your a pain and constantly go and ask for help they will remember your name, but not in a good way. Other then that, in big classes, like in any school they really care less about your name. Odds are they will remember your face though.

Can anyone who got accepted to Uconn tell me if the accpetance letter was a small envelope or big envelope?

...why lol just open it when u get it...its more about the thickness.

I remember Quinnipiac's was a regular sized one and i froze for a sec im like oh man...then i when i went to go in the mail box i realized it was fat and i was like OHHH YEA

So I'm guessing you got into quinnipiac?

My GPA is 3.12 and I have a 1620 SAT score. I'm waiting on a reply from UCONN. I applied early action. My Ec's are.....

FFA Treasurer
4h Farm

Spoke at the Connecticut capital

Do you think I have a chance?

i got in a while ago like the 20th of Dec. like the first day you could find out.
