More work, "better dorm" (thats a royal piece of junk). Thats about it, oh and you need a final project due senior year, usually a 50+ page thesis.

Well, we are now in our fourth month of waiting. Check was cashed back in October, but we just received an email last week that they received my son's application (completed in early October). He has dropped this school to dead last on his list. They keep saying they want to keep the top students in state, but they certainly are not acting that way. It seems that the later you applied, the earlier you hear. I keep hoping we get a call requesting a donation (both my husband and I are alumni) - they are going to get an earful.

Thats what happens it 20,000+ applications. But you will note, they say FEBRUARY for hearing ED. Some people will hear earlier due to them having certain majors which UCONN wants more of. Case in point, I applied as a Biomed with a very strong interest of going there. I heard before everyone else at my school even though some of them applied earlier with higher stats. I applied about 2 weeks before the deadline and heard Dec. 12 2004. My friend also applied for the same major ED and he also heard way before others. The people who applied for other majors from my school didn't hear until mid to late January and Feb. just like UConn told them.

My son indicated science - very high stats, great EC's. Did anyone who applied in October hear?

I applied in October and I heard in December. Applied under bio/biomedical major. You should definitely check the status....quite unusual if your son has high stats and an overall worthy candidate.

I applied as bio in early december and I heard 4 weeks later

same exact situation efg

i applied with the undecided option...i forget what it's called but it allows for my entering any program. Would that delay my decision and also would that have made my application less competative(sp?)?

too late too apply?

Hey I'm an in state resident who applied toward end of November, who still hasn't heard, has anyone else who applied in November not heard yet? Anyway these are my stats.

3.3 GPA

1760 SAT
560 V
610 M
590 W

Good essay, good reccommendations, most ppl I have asked believe I'll get in, but what do you all think?

i'm instate as well, with the same SAT scores, but slightly higher gpa (3.6)...i applied EA and was deferred... depends upon the program you applied to...

I'm in.....I finally got my acceptance letter!

I applied EA and found at last week. I got deferred. (1140 M&V, 92.somethin GPA, soccer, track, academic awards)

I really hope I get in. Does it hurt my chances if there are about 7 people from my school applying too?

No it doesnt hurt that many people are applying from your school. As a matter of fact 60 people from my class went to UCONN this year.

Hey- I'm applying EA to UCONN too. It's my number one school. I'm planning on double majoring in neurobiology/physiology and spanish. Can't wait!

1070 , 2.7 fresh, 2.9 10th, 3.4 jr, 2.99 overall
good stats/ec /sick essay

I applied EA and finally got my decision today. Accepted. Now I have to wait a few months for other colleges' decisions...
