Is there an advantage given to EA applicants?

Is the the EA pool more competitive than the RD pool ( a la notre dame)?

thanks all

There is somewhat of an advantage - especially if you consider EA plus RD + Deferred. If your grades are good going in (and you are not hope your first semester senior grades will give you a boost), completing the application early is probably a good thing... but only if you have time to really work on your essays.

I applied EA for admission, and I was accepted.

I have heard that there is a slight advantage for EA applicants, though I also have heard that many of the students who apply then are stronger candidates for admission.

Either way, it worked for me.

The main advantage is that if accepted, come the end of December one has a major acceptance and can relax and send in just those applications one really might consider as well as Chicago. The cost of an application, $40- $100; the relief of knowing one is accepted to a top school 4 months earlier than RD, priceless.

ND EA is not more competitive...it's a myth.
