...EA vs RD?

Hmm. When the time comes, I'm not sure on which to choose. I have a few questions...
1) If you apply EA, can you take the SAT/SAT II at the first available date senior year and still have it count in your application? Will you get the results in time?
2) This one's a little more specific. If I am taking a really challenging class(es) Senior year that I will do well in, won't it sucks applying EA because you'll at most get just your 1st quarter grade? I have a whole list of challenging classes senior year, and I would love to apply EA, but I'm not sure if one quarter of grades will be enough to convince the AdCom that I'm really capable of higher level work.
3) The thing that makes me hesitate about EA is getting rejected. If I'm defered at least I can submit my later grades and maybe other achievements. Being rejected would pretty much just plain suck.

Also for number 2, I'll clarify a little more. My Junior Core Schedule is AP Euro, Chinese II Honors, English III, Calc BC AP, AP Stats, Comp Sci. Senior year proposed is AP Physics C, Multivariable Calc, AP Lit, AP Chinese, AP Comp Sci. The thing is, I could take Physics C next year, but my schedule has already been put in and everything. Also, the AP sciences have always been taken senior year. By taking Physics C as a JR, I would be the first one to do so. If I don't, it won't really make a difference because no one at my school has ever done so before, so the Adcoms will simply assume that it's not possible for underclassman to take an AP science.

The class I can switch around next year is AP Stats. I have the choice of Physics B, C, and Stats, all AP btw. My school is pretty liberal-arts oriented so they don't really have a clue on the mah classes. For example, I have to take both Calc AB and BC...

The reason I took Stats was because I thought it would help me with a project over the summer and maybe throughout Junior year, but I don't think it looks as good as Physics B or C. Should I just stick with AP Stats? At my school, this is a fairly rigorous class and won't be like AP filler or something. Or should I switch my class to Physics B/C? If so, which one? If I took Stats JR year, I'd take Physics C SR year. If I take Physics C next year, I'd take Stats SR year. If I take B next year, I'd take C SR year, and not take stats at all. I know Physics C is considered to be difficult, but I'm just afriad that me taking it will go unnoticed if I apply EA. It also hurts because I don't have a science class JR year, due to scheduling conflicts, but I already have completed the first year classes for Bio, Chem, and Physics. Sorry if the question was sorta confusing. Thoughts or suggestion? Thanks.

EDIT: Also, I have 6 classes JR and 5 SR year btw. Everyone's supposed to have just 5 classes, but I was allowes to drop my guidance class to take Comp Sci. How hard do you think going straight into Comp Sci AP is? Could I easily take a course at a local college and catch up? Should I take Physics B/C instead of Comp Sci?

The last testing date for EA is November, and the last testing date for RD is January.

The people who are rejected EA are people who presumably wouldn’t be competitive for RD admission, and if you’re deferred EA (as about 70% of applicants are), you’ll have to send your mid-term grade report.

I really see only advantages in applying EA for most people, as long as you have your application together in time and don’t want to apply to a school with a restrictive early program.
