EA vs Regular Decision Dilemma!

Hello everyone,

I’m in a bit of a dilemma over applying to Tech for EA or RD. My UW GPA is 3.6 and my W GPA is 4.1. I have an ACT of 33 but I only have a 30 in math (going to retake the test in October). I know I can do well in senior year so I want to submit my 1st semester senior grades but unfortunately, the 1st semester ends in late January. I know I won’t be able to submit my 1st semester grades for my EA application but would I still be able to submit them RD even though our semester ends so late?

Thank you so much!

Colleges look at applications holistically, meaning that they don’t flip out if one thing is a little below their standards and if something else is above their standards. Applying early action lets the school know that you would really like to attend it if you got in, so it gives your application a little boost. If this school “defers” you, meaning that it needs to look at your application again, it will let you know and then you could send in your mid-year grades. Good luck!

Yea, definetly apply early. The admission rate is much higher, and at worst you’ll get deferred. I actually think you have a pretty good shot early. Good luck!
