EA vs. regular?

okay, so I would LOVE to get into Binghamton. It's my top choice. However, it's definitely a reach for me. My transcript average is only an 88.44(weighted). Freshman and sophomore years my average was in the upper 80s. I didn't take school too seriously. Junior year, though, I got it up to a 94.5. I'm hoping that they'll acknowledge my improvement. Now, senior year, I'm taking only honors and AP classes. So here's where my question comes in:

Should I apply to Bing early action or regular decision? I hear early action usually has a smaller applicant pool and a higher acceptance rate, but since my chances are slim anyway, I'm thinking that maybe i'll apply regular so that they'll see and hopefully consider my mid year senior grades. I got my first marking period report card today, and I got a 94.89. So far, so good.
I would like to hear your opinions!

EA has changed over time, since a lot of people are doing it now. SO I think that RD will give you a little bit of an edge, since your pool may actualy be smaller, so you can stand up more. In EA, mos people are to have your same stats, so what will be the one thing to separate you form the rest? I applied RD to BU, got in as OOS.

If you’re OOS, apply either (you have a better shot than IS since Bing wants the extra tuition). IS, I would say do EA so that if you do get in you’ll know earlier, if you get deferred they’ll receive your mid-year grades anyway, and if you’re rejected, you’re rejected (I’m not sure if they reject in that round anyway).

I applied EA as IS and got in. This was two years ago when their applications were at record highs.
