Centremom, it's good to see you again! I hope Centregirl is doing well. Congratulations to her for that A in Psychology.

Curmudgeon and Doddsdad, there was no letter in the mail today. Do you think the notification is coming via e-mail or snail mail? DD checked her e-mail earlier today, but nothing so far. She's at a friend's house now, so I will have her check her e-mail again when she returns home. Any news yet for y'all?

Nothing. Nada. Null-set. Zip. Nil. Zero.

Ditto, same, identical nothingness

I just had him check his email because his admissions counselor said she would email him because snailmail would take too long.

Okay, take a deep breath and repeat after me...

I'm okay...you're okay...we're okay...

Now, go pour a scotch and put your feet up.

I'm guessing that the admissions office was out over the holidays and classes started back up (CentreTerm) on Wednesday. When they said the 6th could they have meant "mailed by"? Or, more likely, they have been mailed but if they mailed them on Wed or Thur most of KY would receive them today and you will receive them tomorrow. They most definitely will come snail mail...I put Centregirl's acceptance letter in her scrapbook :)

Ned is a great guy. I once told someone that he reminds me of a Chihuahua on speed though. Yikes, that man can talk!

BTW, I am closer to the acceptance letter thing than you can imagine. One of my Girl Scouts has applied, I made her overnight visit with her and her mother (she stayed with, of course, Centregirl) and we are also anxiously awaiting that elusive letter :)

The letter I have clenched in my hand says 1/6. Scholarships on 1/13. LOL.

"Below is a timeline of important dates for you to remember and us to ignore:

January 6 Admissions Office notifies you of admissions decision.

January 13 Admissions Office notifies you of any scholarships awarded to you. "

January 14 Diagnosis of clinical paranoia and/or OCD due for FA purposes.

Ide,
We can't wait until 1/15, C-mudge will have his kidney on the auction block by then. If this was the Yale board, he'd have both kidneys on the block. I wonder what I can get for a slightly abused, but appreciated liver?

Curmudgeon, loosen the grip on the letter and back slowly away ;) . Answer me this, how can my dd have gone off to a friend's house without her computer? Doesn't she feel the frenzy, too? It is so tempting for me to check her e-mail, but I'm better than that ... aren't I? Hmmm, yes, I am ... I think.

Centremom, we need to talk. DD still needs to schedule her overnight. I wonder if our girls might have some things in common. I know we have talked before, but I have a very bad memory and can't remember your dd's interests. I will pm you. I want Splash to have just as fabulous an overnight there as she did at Hendrix.

Reckon anyone needs a left arm? I could probably do without mine. No, it wouldn't be easy, but I could probably let it go ... for the right price.

If it makes y'all feel any better, I live 45 minutes from Danville and haven't gotten anything yet.

They are killing us. Just killing us. LOL. It is now officially late by 3 , no 4 minutes.

Edit:what kind of time is this board set on? 9 minutes slow time? Never noticed it being off that much. Huh.

I got my letter today. accepted.

Congratulations, iamnotabronte! I hope that means we can expect one in the mail on Monday.

Congrats iamnotabronte, saw your acceptance on the Elon board as well. Do you have a clear favorite on your list? Depends on $$?

And Curmudgeon is probably doing a math word puzzle in his head. "Okay, if it takes one day for a letter to get from Danville to a city in Kentucky, and Kentucky is 3 states away from Texas, but there's a time zone change, then . . . :)

Just funnin with you -- I have a very good feeling for your D at Centre.

congrats to iamnotabronte. Great news for you.

Let's see. That's a day to get 35 miles, carry your one, plus a time change, multiply by the number of states in between plus customs time at the Texas National border, plus the fact that our rural mail carrier must have Seasonal Affective Disorder and be delivering the mail on a pogo stick means that ...uuhhh....it'll never get here.

haha, thanks!

good luck to y'all! Scholarship letters come out on the 13th, correct?

Hello all!
Doddsson received an email today notifying him of his acceptance to Centre for fall 2006! His admissions counselor said she would email him since the letter might take awhile to get here. Curmudgeon, you should have explained to the admissions staff that Texas is a foreign country, and you would have received email notification too! Splashmom, I'm sorry, but I think they know Tennessee wouldn't qualify for electronic notification.

We're excited for him. Now for the really scary part, merit aid notification:eek:

Fabulous news, doddsdad! Please pass on my congratulations. I'm hoping Splash will have a letter in the mail today. We'll keep our fingers crossed. If they decide to accept her, we'll then just have to worry about the $$ letter. Fingers crossed for all! Curmudgeon, I hope both of our girls hear something good today! :)
