<p>I've heard that Early Action is more competitive but Early Decision is less competitive. Since Stanford does EA, is this true?</p>

<p>Yes -- Stanford's SCEA pool is arguably stronger than its RD pool (higher acceptance rates, apparently tighter admissions, etc.).</p>

<p>That's why people from SCEA can get deferred to the RD pool</p>
