Hey guys,

I have been told some colleges do not really care about freshman.. and some do. Anyway, each school is difference obviously but approx. what is the ratio of each HS year grade's importance...

Freshman:Sophomore:Junior:Senior

For example
1:2:3:3? something like that. Just curious which year's grades matter the most and by how much. You can give me a percentage too if you want. Like freshman year's grades matter X%/100.

Junior, Senior, Sophmore, Freshman...in that order generally.

Lol, there is no way anyone can say freshman year is worth 5.1783%.

But yeah, the general understanding is Junior, Senior, Sophomore, and then Freshman in decreasing importance.

This makes sense as Junior year is the last full year, Senior year includes the leadup to admissions, and so on.

i see.. thx any others...? for senior's grades how do they recieve it coz we are not done out senior year when colleges make decisions. First semester marks??

Depends on your school's grading system and when you apply.

But seriously, trust me, there isn't really a diversity of opinion on this topic. Search around and you'll find tons of posts about this topic, and virtually everyone agrees.

Agree with above. 1. Junior, 2. Senior, 3. Sophomore, 4. Freshman.

And it isn't so much senior year grades that they are looking at (though many will request and consider your first semester senior year grades), they will be looking at your senior course selection - it should be rigorous with real academic courses. Don't look like a slacker.
