Hello. I applied for Groton School 8th grade this year and am very excited to hear the results. My SSAT scores were the 93 percentile, had excellent recommendations and straight As. My interview went very well. I am anticipating my results this Monday. I will keep you guys posted. :)

Huh. Alrighty. Good luck.

You are just like me!

I had a 93 SSAT, straight As, good interview, great recs… I was waitlisted but I also needed full financial aid. Good luck! If it doesn’t work this year, go for next!

Are you applying for eighth grade?

Me?

I applied for eighth last year, ninth this time.

Thank you Stagrgirl3 and Mrnephew. It’s creepy how much we are alike stargirl. I need financial aid too! Good Luck this year!

Thanks! I really hope it works out for you. IInd Form is such an amazing opportunity.

I just want to tell you a few things before Monday (help a brother/sister out!):

Schools, Groton included, are trying to build a class. If they need a cello player and you’ve taken piano lessons for a few years, you’re not going to fit that bill. If their only student from Montana is graduating, they might want you to fill that place. If their hockey team is weak and someone else is nationally ranked, that other kid might get the good news. My point is that if you don’t get in, it’s not so much a reflection of you as much as a reflection of who the school needed. Once you get to 15 posts, PM me with any questions. I’m here to help!

Thank you very much! And I definitely will! I’ll tell you on Monday if I got in! :-h

Don’t forget to post in the 2014 Clean Official Boarding Decisions and Applicant Stats/ECs thread which will be posted tomorrow! Best of luck @dramaticdebate

Thank You! I will!

Post here too, even if it’s less-than-favorable news! <a href=“College Confidential Prep School Decisions 2015 - Google Sheets”>http://■■■■■■■.com/CCprepschooldecisions2014

Yep!

@stargirl3 I was actually asking @dramaticdebate but I was curious about yours too, so it works out.

And dramaticdebate, do you actually debate? One of my favorite and passionate activities.

I went to a debate camp over the summer and fell in love with it. I am looking for more opportunities and if I am accepted into Groton, I will definitely do it. But, no I don’t right now/

You really should. Great activity, and it’s really fun. Kind of like UFC but intellectually.
