So I told my counselor that I was an Eagle Scout because I had my Board of Review the next week, and it is pretty much a formality rather than an actual denial(By the way, I am an Eagle Scout now
), and she wrote that I was an Eagle Scout, but in my application, I wrote I was an Eagle Scout candidate at the time because I was not when I filled it all out. Now I am though, and it is too late to change it. Will the college look at this and get confused?
You can write an email to the admissions office and explain that at the time of your application you were going thru the final review board and so some references say “candidate” and others will say that you are an Eagle Scout. You can then point out that you have now finished the review process and are indeed an Eagle Scout. I would include a scan of your award paper work as proof.
And by the way, congratulations on achieving the rank of Eagle. That is quite an achievement.
It’s not a problem. Schools know that there can be a time difference between the app and recs.
Congratulations on becoming an Eagle Scout!
That won’t be a problem. Congratulations. Agree that you may want send a short email to the admissions offices to let them know you are now an Eagle Scout.
Nice, Im Eagle too. Congratulations.
Nice job!
For younger Scouts who might read this thread, it is a fantastic idea to finish your Eagle in the summer of sophomore or junior year so you don’t have to worry about it while going through college application season, which can be stressful enough on its own. Your precious free time will only become more limited as you get older.
