I am looking to go to college for Musical Theater and I am going to be become an Eagle Scout very soon. People have always said that being an Eagle Scout looks "good" on a college resume. Is this the same way for MT? Exactly how good does it look? Does it even matter?

Congrats on earning the Eagle Scout rank!

While that looks good on your resume and there are several threads on whether or not your resume matters in MT, it is all about your audition, so be prepared… see what I did there ;)

It will mean something on the academic admissions side which is a component of the process. And as far as MT goes, becoming an Eagle Scout is extremely impressive, shows commitment and empathy for a cause. Although the audition’s the thing, you never know how something like that could possibly influence the decision-makers. It does make for a good conversation in an interview, if it gets to that point. Congratulations!

While it is primarily the audition and interview that matters to schools, the Eagle Scout thing (which is really impressive…congrats!) will come in handy in the scholarship/grant area outside of MT merit aid, especially private and outside scholarships. I’m guessing if you had what it takes to become an Eagle Scout, you know this already, but there are scholarships of varying amounts earmarked just for Eagle Scouts thru BSA and other private entities.

To that end, the unique blend of Eagle Scout/Musical Theater might help set you apart.
