Eagle Scout

How good does Eagle scout look on a college app for schools like Harvard, Princeton, CalTech, Stanford, UT, Brown, etc.?

It looks very good. My ecs were a little sparse (very sparse by CC standards), but being an Eagle Scout definitely plumped out my ecs, especially by focusing on it in my essays. Read some old threads about this topic.

It helped my son's friend (who was a mediocre student) tremendously. He qualified for scholarships that he likely would not have gotten without being an Eagle. I honestly do not think it helped my son that much. His essays focused on his passion for scouting and the ways it has helped him grow, what he learned. He was very involved in Scouting since 1st grade. I am guessing, a lot will depend on the school - a conservative school will look favorably, a liberal school may not look on it as favorabldespite top grades he was rejected from one liberal East coast school, waitlisted at another). By the way, there are 67 Eagle Scouts in his freshman class.

wow, heh

palermo, I don't plan on going into a Liberal arts school. Im looking at Harvard, Princeton, UT, Rice, Stanford, CalTech, etc.

I meant liberal (as opposed to conservative). I am not familiar with admissions at the schools you mentioned - my son did not look at them.
