Earlier editions of textbooks

For my Intermediate Microeconomics class we are using the 6th edition of the textbook. The cheapest 6th edition is $50 (international edition) and $123 (standard edition), while the 5th edition is only $9 (standard edition). My teacher says that I can use the 5th edition, but I'm responsible for any differences. What do you think?

Thank you.

I do that with all my textbooks and I’ve never had a problem. They’re generally very similar.

My daughter did it many times.

Forgot to add: If you’re worried about using an older book check with the publisher, they generally list the differences between editions.

The only real difference most of the time is with the problems. The main difference between two editions is always the addition of problems. Make sure you have someone to check with or get the problems from if they’re assigne from the book.
