Are we definite that it’s going to be either friday or saturday?

Also do they not warn you when you are going to hear and just send an email at any time?

Looking at past threads, ED notifications were sent earlier than the 15th. Someone contacted the admissions office and they said “anytime between now and December 15”. I’m guessing anytime between 3-6pm Central either Sat or Mon.

Last year the e-mail arrived early in the morning on Saturday, maybe 8am. The decision was not written out in the e-mail, there was a link to click which brought you to a form acceptance/rejection/deferral letter. So don’t panic about the message preview on gmail… it won’t give anything away :p

Based on the release times since 2003, they have released results sometime between the 10th and the 13th, between 6 and 7:30pm. My guess would be Friday the 11th or Saturday the 12th, sometime after 6:00pm (est.). Monday would be the latest they’ve released it in recent years, and Sunday is highly unlikely. Good luck everyone!

lets pray it’s tomorrow! i can’t wait any longer

This thread makes me feel like a kid on Christmas Eve who can’t sleep because he’s excited but can’t stand waiting any longer.

For five weeks I’ve been counting down the days until Dec. 15th and today it dawned on me just how little the number 5 is. (It might as well be 4, today is almost over.) And now I find out that I could be finding out as soon as tomorrow? Tomorrow is going to be one incredibly long day.

I’ve been going through these alternating phases of “I have no chance of getting in” and “I will definitely get in”. Is this happening to anyone else or am I just crazy? I just want to know and get this whole waiting anxiously thing over with.

@Glenny apparently there were a lot more ED applicants than usual which indicates that there will be more applicants regular decision as well. more students applying means more students will be turned down and the kids who displayed their commitment by applying ED will receive an advantage.

I’m so nervous! I’m warning my friends that I’m going to be a wreck right now and I’ll be checking my email on my blackberry internet every hour!

@BLJ422
I’m doing the exact same thing. I go from playing the Northwestern fight song on youtube, to filling out supplements for other schools, I hope it’s this weekend.

Good Luck everyone!

Is anyone else freaking out every time they get an e-mail?

@bandie
Haha, I’ll be doing the same thing (I have an iPhone and it’s set to check e-mail every 15 minutes). I have been so unproductive the past couple of days and probably until we find out. I totally see myself reading the decision during class and either scream YES!!! as loud as I can and start jumping up and down or NOOOOOO!!!. I live on the west coast so if it comes at 5pm EST, I get it at 2!

As much as I’d like to hear now, I don’t care when I get it as long as it’s an acceptance…I’m going to be depressed if I don’t get in. Which is a pretty big chance since my school is very small and don’t offer AP or IB classes and my ACT score is really, really low. I really hope I get in. It would cure my senioritis.

@bandie124 everytime my blackberry vibrates, i freak out for a second.

I keep coming back to this forum instead of doing my 10 page research paper just to see if someone somehow has a piece of information… even if we all find out at the same time.

DUDE I HATE THOSE NORTHEASTERN EMAILS!!! on my inbox list i can only read the word “North” so i like freak out…

but what do you think the chances will be this year, for my school lately two of my friends got accepeted to Columbia today, and my other friend got accepted to Cornell. My school is 3 for 3 on acceptances to top 15 schools so far. Is Early Decision acceptances getting easier? I read that Northwestern’s Early Decision pool increase by 6%; however they might drop 50 to 100 applicants as applicants move their Early Decision to regular decision. Just food for thought, please verify this with me!

by the way, so the Early Decision results can come out any time between this Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday?

I know Northeastern sent that email out today knowing we’d all be misled by the “North” half of its name. That’s just rude.

Does someone know if NU defers any ED applicants?

Yes they do.

Class of 2013 found out Saturday, December 13. I think it’s more likely we find out Saturday instead of Friday.

I just want to find out…
THIS IS SO NERVE WRACKING

and yeah, i saw that stupid Northeastern email too :(

haha i keep on getting stalked by colleges ive never replied to, and while checking my inbox its like, 1 new message…from mount holyoke! and im like no!!!
good luck to everyone!!!

So I just got home from school and I immediately checked my email. I had one new email and the first few words of the title were “Office of Admissions”.

I about had a stroke.

And then it turned out that it was from Michigan State, to which I know I have already been admitted, inviting me to some college visit/information session.

Not cool, MSU. Not cool.

Do you think that people in the admissions office are reading these posts and rolling in the aisles laughing?
