<p>I submitted my application to University of Wisconsin-Madison for Fall 2014 admission on September 2nd, literally one day after the application became available. It's my top school, as you can probably guess. Does anyone have any insight as to when the admissions office at UW will start reviewing applications for fall 2014? Could I receive my decision by October?</p>
<p>I thought you couldn’t submit until September 15?
Early December to late January is typical.</p>
<p>I went to their admission session. I don’t think you will get a notice in Oct at all. The booklet said end of Jan for 11/1 deadline. Other schools will notify by 12/13 or 12/24. I think UMN may notify earlier if you submit really early.</p>
<p>UW does rolling admissions, with the decision being admit, deny or postpone. </p>
<p>Students with strong gpa and test scores typically are admitted earlier in the cycle, and others may hear later in the cycle or be postponed. When you look at the decision threads over the past couple of years on the UW board, students with unweighted 3.7+ and 30+ ACTs are typically the early admits. Another factor is in-state/out of state, as out-of-state may hear later in the rolling cycle. </p>
<p>As I recall, no decisions really in Sept, some in Oct and more in Nov – for those who meet the first cycle deadline.<br>

<p>My D1 had stellar stats (35 ACT, 4.0+ gpa), applied as her safety the first week of September. Her school didn’t send the transcript until mid Oct, she was admitted around the last week of October. </p>
<p>D2 had good but not stellar stats (2100ish SAT, 3.5ish GPA), applied at Nov 1 priority deadline, was admitted first week of December. </p>
<p>We are OOS full pay coasties.</p>

<p>In the past, October 29 was the first day they announced admission. I read that they usually update the status at 3am ET. So far, I have not heard anyone reporting acceptance yet.</p>
<p>Oddly, our counselor received a sort of “likely email” for one of my friends soon after he applied a couple weeks ago. He’s an international applicant and it isn’t an acceptance per se, but the email said that he was a strong applicant and was very likely to be admitted.</p>
<p>So clearly they’ve started reviewing applications. I have no idea when they release decisions though.</p>
