"Early Acceptance" Letter?

I applied to Grinnell regular decision and I just got a letter informing me of my "early acceptance" as well as a merit scholarship... I just thought it was weird....

I seriously was just going to post a thread about that too. I got an early acceptance letter like last week and I applied RD.

I hope it's real... lol

I just searched to see if Grinnell sends out early acceptances, it seems like it does! =]

It seems legit even if it did freak me out... that is pretty exciting! Looks like I will probably be attending then.

I got one too! They also offered me a (pretty large) merit scholarship. I'm excited. :)

Yes, these are their "early writes". My son got one 2 years ago and is really happy at Grinnell. Congratulations!

Grinnell has now become my top choice. :D

You will all have a wonderful experience at Grinnell. My daughter is a junior (got an early letter too). The faculty support and mentorship from her advisors, the care and consideration she has been given at her workplace, her semester abroad in London and experiences there have been so amazing. Like any school experience, it is the effort you put in that counts, but to have an extraordinarily attentive faculty and staff is very special. Students have a broad range of interests and you will find your niche no matter what, if you make sure you leave your room! Despite having a serious workload she has had time for many other activities. Boredom or isolation have never entered her vocabulary (and if you can believe that she wasn't sorry to leave London, despite enjoying her experience, and get back to the cornfields, she really hasn't complained!)

I would kill to get an early letter, Grinnell is pretty much my top choice.....

huh, you all are so lucky

^yep, same here.

I just got one today! I'm excited, and wasn't expecting to find out this early at all.

I got one, too. Neat! :)

Congratulations guys, hope to meet you at Grinnell,

One question to the once who received the acceptance letters:
Does you PioneerWeb account also say that you're accepted?

Cuz considering the place in which I am right now, it will probably take a loooong time for a letter to reach me:)

I got one yesterday

Guys, answer doIhaveto's question, please.
I need an answer too.

<<Does you PioneerWeb account also say that you're accepted?

Mine does not, no. It says to check back after 3/27.

Well, it's obvious all the people that got accepted are VERY competitive at the school. I'm guessing it's like the "likely letters" the Ivies use except the letters have an actual decision. :]

Congrats all you smart kids. :]
