I live in San Diego County and applied to SDSU in October. I applied for the criminology program. My GPA is around a 3.2 and my SAT score is 1030 (just math and reading) but 1580 combined. My webportal says early march but I am reading that people are getting accepted already? I am so stressed and in the middle of finals! Haha this is my dream school. When will I hear? What are my chances?

What is your major?? For the highly competitive majors such as Business, Engineering, CS, Nursing, you need above a 4000 for a good chance. Here is a link to the # of applicants for each major and how many were admitted but not their Stats from last year.

It looks like Criminal Justice had a 18% acceptance rate last year so based on your Stats and EI, I would say it would be a Low Reach. I hope you have some backups and safeties on your list.

Who do they usually admit first? Just out of curiosity… I have a 3.5 or higher CSU GPA (Don’t even know if i calculated it 100% correctly but…) and all IB classes. Applied OOS.

SDSU for the last few years admits applicants with an EI of around 4200 or higher along with several OOS applicants early. Many of the early acceptances are also given a chance to apply for the Honors college. This is just a pattern I have seen with the posted acceptances from 2013-current. It will depend upon how competitive each applicant pool is for each particular major.

@hemovex, you see posts from Mid-December through the end of the month for early acceptances. Regular decisons start around Mid-February through Early March.

My younger son had an ACT EI of 1056 and was admitted for Computer Science last year in February. I would say if you have an EI of 1000+ then you stand a good chance for an acceptance
