Early Action 2023 Case Notification

Does anyone know when the notification date would be? Is it Dec.17?

Also, would we get a postal mail or would we be able to check status in the Case Portal?

@angeltalk Case states it will on or about December 17th, I did read somewhere that last year they notified the Saturday before around 8pm. Notification is through the application portal. Good luck!

Thanks @proudmom2023. So you think we would get it on 15th @ 8pm?

@angeltalk I am not saying that, it would be great if we did, I am just saying that was posted somewhere that last year that is what was done

@angeltalk @Proudmom2023 last year, EA results were released on Tuesday Dec. 19. I’m hoping it will be this coming Monday, Dec. 17.

Its hard to have perspective when you are in the middle of it…but you will get notified soon!

The CWRU office of financial aid contacted us yesterday (12/14) to clarify a number and asked for a quick response from us within 24 hours “due to upcoming notification deadlines.”

We responded right away and gave them what they needed. We’re hoping that an inquiry from financial aid on Friday means an acceptance on Monday, because financial aid wouldn’t be working up numbers for someone they denied.

Fingers crossed!

@vamom4 we had the same experience! My son was admitted to his 2 other choices last night, Case is his first choice though, so anxiously waiting!

@Proudmom2023, we were contacted by financial office in the middle of November to clarify numbers and send them back an email. Do you think this is a good sign?

@AAA124556 I really don’t know, this is my first round at the college applications rodeo, good luck and post when you hear something!

count down 2 days so much tension

I honestly think this is going to be a deferral or straight out rejection for my son. I think it was a reach but we’ll see. He is full IB but was only able to do two AP classes (10th grade) since he has been in the IB program since 6th grade. He has four HL (math, bio, English and history) and two SL (French and art). He has a 3.94 UW but a 1400 on SAT. He had horrible anxiety with the SAT. He has no hook except for being a 3rd degree black belt and competing at Nationals. He is also the head coach of the junior competition team.
I’ve told him this is a reach and I’m hoping he’s not too disappointed.

Last year, CWRU sent out a decision notification plan on Dec 15 and said…

…I’m writing this quick note to let you know how and when we plan to provide admission notification to students who have applied to Case Western Reserve University under the Early Action or Early Decision I plans.

We expect Early Action and Early Decision I applicants will receive an email providing a link to the secure webpage with their admission status on Tuesday, Dec. 19. We will begin sending these email notifications around 8 p.m. EST. Students who applied for financial aid will also be able to see their financial aid package online at that time.

Thank you again for your interest in Case Western Reserve University. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission …

So - watch-out for an email like this. Also, don’t get freak out with portal changes on canvas or other locations (or lack-there-of) - those don’t mean a thing at least for our son’s case last year (He was totally freaked out for no reason when he couldn’t get into some of the links other applicants could).

Best of luck to every applicants out there…

@Mickey2Dad I have a feeling there will be an email tomorrow (Monday) with a message that results will be released on Wednesday (12/19). Just a hunch based on their FB post about “hoping to release mid-week next week”.

So it’s NOT going to be on Monday, then?? @NovaMom93

@equationlover I hope I’m wrong! Just relaying what an admissions person said on a Facebook chat a few days ago:

“Hello! We expect to release decisions around the middle of next week. As soon as we know, we will email all Early Action and Early Decision applicants with an exact date, time, and instructions on how to access their admission decisions. Thank you so much for your patience!”

Oh okay. Well it seems as if it’s not going to be tomorrow if they said they’re emailing something out before.

@Kona2012 OMG! Your son sounds so qualified. Are you in Hawaii? My son is also IB on Oahu.

@Anninhawaii LOL no we are not from Hawaii, I wish we were. Kona is our dog’s name. Sadly I live in the very chilly and very wet state of Maryland. It has been raining for almost two days now. I guess we’ll see what happens this week. We visited Case when we were in Ohio to see College of Wooster and we were both surprised by how much we liked it. Fingers crossed for everyone. I’m afraid he hasn’t demonstrated enough interest - requested an interview, didn’t get one and we only toured once but he never contacted his AO so we’ll see…

Its 17th in asia already?
