If I send in my EA app before my first quarter grades come out, am I still required to submit those grades before the mid-year report? Will my school counselor wait until the grades come out before submitting my transcript? Grades will be finalized 4 days after my application due date, so I’m not sure how that works.
There’s a class I’m not doing too stellar in right now and I don’t necessarily want this class to show on my report before I get my admissions decision. The rest of my transcript is good, so I know it probably won’t make a difference, but I’m applying to an ultra-selective school and I don’t want to take chances.
Short answer - it depends. Some colleges require Q1 updates from all EA/ED applicants. Others don’t require them, but may contact the GC for select applicants. Some high schools Automatically send out Q1 updates to all colleges.
And another short answer- it depends on what “not doing too stellar” means.
If the college gets an update that you got a B+ in Yearbook or Health instead of your usual A, really nothing to worry about. If you’re getting a C- in AP Calc and you’ve written an essay about studying civil engineering-- well, not much you can do right now except knuckle down, right?
