Early Action and Money

I know when you apply ED there you risk not getting aid from the college....does this apply to EA applicants? I also heard that EA applications are more likely to get merit money is this true? or just a rumor? thx

depends on the school. Every school will say ED apps have the same chance at FinAid, and I beleive them. But, what ED does not allow you to do is negotiate packages later....some schools will match a competitor's FinAid offer to you.

EA shows early interest, and if your app is strong, it may help minimally in obtaining more merit money, but only minimally. Where it really helps is public schools will rolling admissions -- some cash is first-come, first-served. When the money is gone....

so what is really the point of EA? just that hear earlier than RD and not binded like ED?

That's pretty much it.
