I am taking 2 SAT subject test on October 1st, so I would not be able to get the scores by the early action deadline for 3 of my schools, (October 15th). In none of the schools is it required that I send subject test scores, but I feel like it might help me. I am fairly confident that I can get in without them, but do you think I should wait to get them and not apply early action, or send in an application without them?
The October 15th deadline is for sending in your application, grades, reference letters and so on, but you can still send SAT scores after that. Most schools want them as soon as possible, but recognize that you are not in control of when the College Board releases them.
You have a question which is unanswerable without knowing and checking the particular colleges you are talking about.
First, for most colleges with EA appliication deadlines, test scores can arrive after the application deadline date, and thus the Ocotber test is fine and some even accept Nov tests. However, there are some colleges that require all test scores to be in their hands by the application deadline. You need to verify with the particular colleges whether you can submit the October tests (usually colleges tell you that on their sites)
Second, you mention that the schools do not require subject tests. The vast majority of colleges that do not require subject tests won’t even consider them if you send them because they do not use subject tests at all to determine admission. However, there are colleges which recommend or consider subject tests but do not require them and you need to determine if the colleges you have selected do so because otherwise sending subjec tests would be pointless even if the college takes the Oct test…
