Does Rutgers have early action/early decision etc?

What would you say is a safe SAT score for Rutgers? I know that it depends on everything, not only SATs, but most colleges have an average expectation, so I was wondering if I'm screwed with a 1900 (equivalent to 1266 on the old ones, I think)...

We visited in August and we were told by the admissions person that they feel they can assess you based on first three years of HS. The application asks what courses you are taking and your hs trtanscript has to include your courses, but they do not ask to see even first semester grades. It is rolling admissions.

According to my understand, rolling admission means that the applications are read as they are recieved by the university.

Therefore, for a college with rolling admission, it is a little easier to get accepted if you send your application in early. However, for a college like Rutgers (it accepts A LOT of people) you don't really have to wrory about this.

BTW...how did you compute your old SAT score to be 1266? SAT scores are measured in tens. All you have to do is add up your math score and your critical reading score (most colleges are looking at the writing score as a SAT II).

Whats your GPA, do you live in NJ? (those are two other important factors for Rutgers)

Oh...everyone at my school was doing some complicated calculation to get a comparison to the old SAT scores. But my critical reading score was 590 and my math score was 660, so my actual score is 1250?

My GPA is a 95.4 (around 3.75, I think) and yes, I do live in NJ.

And by what spikemom said, even if my GPA goes down this year, Rutgers won't look at it? I have a few hard classes this year, and I'm afraid that it will affect my GPA. Can they decline an acceptance they've given? But that's probably only for the students who completely fail out of their senior classes, right?

You honestly have nothing to worry about. A NJ resident with 1250 SAT and 3.7 GPA can EASILY get into Rutgers.

Yes...they technically can rescind your acceptance, but they usually don't do that unless, as you said, you COMPLETELY bomb your senior year.

If you usually get all A's and B's and you get two C's senior year I doubt they would rescind your acecptance. However, if you usually get A's and B's, and got all D's anf F's as a senior they might think about taking action.

However, you're obviously not that type of person sicne you're posting on CC..lol...

The only thing that worries me is that I am taking a very, very simple courseload this year. While most people would probably be taking a bunch of AP/honor classes, I'm taking mainly easy electives, with one honors LA class. This is due to a very personal reason that my guidance counselor suggests I write a little personal statement about to the college. I don't want them to think I am just coasting along with an easy senior workload because I'm getting lazy. This is the thing that's driving me insane, because I'm sure it looks bad.

Anyhow, thanks for your answers, aVenger1751. I really appreciate it. :)

Ericg1, did you take many honors/AP courses? Were you very involved in extracurriculars? And which specific college did you apply and get accepted to?

I'm new here... I will be a senior this year. I have already taken SAT once and will take it again in Oct 2007. I live in NJ and on my 1st SAT I got a 1800.
My accumulated GPA so far is around 3.5. I know I have another chance to improve my SAT score, but do you think I can get into Rutgers with an 1800 and 3.5 GPA?

One more thing - my school has sent me a transcript at the end of this school year (2006-2007). It has weighted and unweighted GPA. But the unweighted is what counts right? colleges look at the unweighted GPA right?

if i got into rutgers pharm with a scholarship, and i already enrolled in april-may-ish, what are the chances that they will rescind my acceptance after seeing my final report? i have major senioritis, and i think my grades are going to drop to straight Cs (but all my classes are APs)

Is the pharmacy program hard because I’m planning on doing that. I’m only a sophomore but i want to know my chances. If i keep up my grades and everything i calculated that i would have like a 3.90- 4.0 GPA (if I’m lucky). I do live in NJ, i know you have a better chance if your in state. I want to know what the average SAT, and ACT scores are and what other tests i should take (especially for a 0-6 program). I’m not in many AP classes, just AP accounting, AP US history and next year hopefully ill be in AP Bio (but only if i keep my grades up). PLEASE HELP ME!!!
