Early action and scheduling SAT's

D is a HS senior who plans on applying EA to a couple of her schools (hopefully get at least one acceptance early, reduce the stress, etc.).

She wonders if taking the SAT in November would be too late. Apps are due 11/1 or 11/15, but decisions are not made immediately by the colleges.

We still have a couple of days to get a registration in for the October tests, but have to decide soon.

Thanks to CC'ers for all the help, past and present!

I think as long as you give the colleges the heads up that you are going to take the test...it should be fine.....
if u are taking the october one....that should be fine for the ea/ed schools since u get the scores back by end of october

Most colleges will tell you on their websites which is the last test date they will accept for EA, ED or RD. What schools is she looking at?

Well, I would error on the side of caution and have all her SAT's done by Oct if I were in your shoes. That way if there are any "glitches" in sending scores at the last minute, as happens every year to some kids, her application won't be held up.
