Early Action Chapman University Acceptance

I applied to Chapman (early action) on November 15th and I was wondering if anyone else has received a decision or know when Chapman will start sending out acceptance letters? Thank you!

It says theyve already sent out decisions on the webadvisor when I checked

DS applied to Dodge for Film Production on Oct 29th. His webadvisor status still says file complete decision pending (as it has since Oct 29th). I wonder if different majors send out acceptances at different times.

My S also applied to Dodge, for broadcast journalism, EA. He called last week and was told it will be another week or so.

Below is some info on admission decisions for Dodge. I’m not sure how the rest of Chapman is proceeding. DS applied for Digital Arts on Oct 24th and today (Sunday!) his admission status changed to ‘Decision mailed.’ In past years, evidently, Chapman indicated whether a student was admitted on the webadvisor; this year, we’ve been told, they will post ‘decision mailed’ only (not yay or nay) – and it can take 5-7 days more before the letter actually goes out in snail-mail. Now torture-wait begins for DS! Hope this is helpful. Good luck everyone!!!

Here is what was posted on the Dodge Admission blog on Jan 3 (link at bottom):

<<<When Decisions will be released for Early Action and Film Production Applicants by Lauren Kacura on January 3rd, 2012

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great holiday! Since we are now entering the month of January, I wanted to give you an update on when decisions will be coming out.

For Early Action applicants (non-film production): We will send out decision starting on January 10th, through the rest of January.

For Film Production applicants: We will send out decisions starting in the beginning of February.

We send our decisions out on a rolling basis, so you may not hear the first week or two that decisions go out. This is not a bad thing, it just depends on where your application ended up in the process. You should see your Web Advisor account update when the letter has been mailed. Once you see this update you should receive your decision letter within a week.

If you are offered a merit scholarship, you should receive that letter with your admit packet or shortly after. If you have any questions, you can contact the Financial Aid Office at (714) 997-6741.

My S just looked at WebAdvisor…his says “decision has been mailed.” WHY do they not just post the decision online?! This is the only school to which he has applied that does not just tell the kids via their password protected web page. S is feeling tortured!

Yes, we feel your pain! It is murderous to wait. DS and family all wish we could be celebrating right now after checking his webadvisor. We’d be ceremoniously trashing apps to back-up colleges with Feb deadlines!(Dodge is DS’s absolute FIRST CHOICE). But this shows definitely that the wait will soon be over.

Fingers crossed for SJR, maddenmd and everyone!

Calleyremi, have you checked your webadvisor status? It seems Chapman is beginning to note there whether decision has been made (letter is being mailed).

Nothing in today’s mail! SCREAM! S called home from school at lunch, dying to know if IT came.

Last year, my son did not receive his letter till about 8 days after WebAdvisor said Decision Mailed. I’m told that it does not literally go into the mail, but rather, passes through the internal mailing system and then is sent out. So try to put it out of your mind for a week. As I recall from last year, the people who heard back this early were all admitted. I hope that helps.

Son applied to film production… so I guess its early February for him (and us!) Good luck to all of you waiting… hope you share the news with the rest of us when you get it! And I hope its positive for all of you!

AHHHH I JUST SAW THAT MY STATUS HAS BEEN CHANGED TO “Decision Mailed”
I live in SoCal so I’m expecting a reply in a day or so?
I’ll keep you posted

Same here haha I actually live like 10 minutes away from Chapman! So excited

mine says “fall transcripts requested.” what does that even mean? ugh am I missing something from my application?

D’s web advisor says “fall term grades requested”. Hasn’t received anything in mail yet. She is a business major. What happens next?

I’ve been waiting now, DESPERATELY, as well! My status also changed to decision mailed D:

I applied as a Music Major in Vocal Emphasis (looking to double, though - they should know that). I hope this is good news!

@calleyremi & @caraconcerta:
If your web advisor shows “fall term grades or fall transcript requested” you may need to contact admission. Sounds like they’re waiting on your mid-year report or your first semester transcript to be sent. Check with your HS counselor to see if it was sent.

@529mom, Sounds like they’re waiting on your student’s first semester senior grade report as well. Check with admissions and your HS counselor to see if any paperwork is missing.

Good luck to everyone!

My D received an email from a coach letting her know she was accepted yesterday!

It’s official . . . early action decisions are rolling out. My personal decision is still pending, but here is a video from the admissions office about the release of decisions.
