Did anyone or anyone's kids apply EA? We are suppose to find out Feb 1st which is only a couple days away. Do you guys know if they'll update your status online or do they just mail them out without updating your status? Do they tell you your merit scholarships in the acceptance packet? Thanks and good luck everyone!

Hello! Our DS also applied EA to Earlham. No idea how they notify. DS has been accepted by Moravian College, Washington College, and Juniata College.
I think the final choice will be between Juniata and Earlham ( if he gets accepted)

Good luck to all!!

It’s going to depend on each schools financial aid package for my family. If Earlham doesn’t give me a good package then I simply cannot go.

I’ve been accepted to: Clark, Wheaton (MA), Allegheny, Juniata, Ursinus, Wooster, Hiram, Lawrence, Knox, and Lenoir-Rhyne.

Still waiting on: Earlham, Flagler, Hobart, and Holy Cross

If I get into Holy Cross, it will be hard to pass up and they do meet full need (only school on my list which does). However, it is the complete opposite of Earlham. I worry that Earlham may be too hippy, but on the contrary, Holy Cross may be too rich and preppy. We’ll just have to wait and see!

Good luck to your son!

PS- I really like Juniata :)

My D is also waiting on Earlham. Everyday she checks the mail. Not sure how they notify. She hasn’t visited yet but on paper it is her favorite. She wants a quirky student body. Plus the horse barn on campus is a major plus.

We supposedly find out if we are admitted February 1st. I just wonder if it is by snail mail only. It really depends on the college because some won’t post it online. I really don’t see a reason for having a status check if the college won’t post the decision there. Call me new school, but I rather just find out online lol. We should all have a decision a week from today though. Good luck to your daughter! :)

I just read on Earlham’s facebook, “Early action application notifications will go out next week, if the app is complete. After that, notifications will roll out weekly. To check your status, but not the admission decision, login to EarlhamConnect.”

So I guess we will have to wait for the actual mail, bummer!

early_college…best of luck to you!
Holy Cross and Earlham both graduate fine pre-med students who become good physicians. Both take solid students from middle-class backgrounds.
Our DS will receive financial aid from both Moravian and Juniata. We will await and see what Earlham offers.

Thanks! I won’t be going into pre-med though. I’m more of a English/Social Science type of guy.

I met a number of guys in medical school who either attended Holy Cross or Earlham. EA at Earlham should be notified this week.
For our DS, I think it will depend on who gives him the most scholarships.

DS’ EA Envelope came today, a slightly-bigger-than-business-envelope with the happy words “You Did It!” clearly on the cover.

We are less than 4 hours drive from Richmond so I’m guessing it was sent out Friday and didn’t take too long. Hope others hear soon as well!

We are still waiting on one other school, plus a couple of deferrals that won’t say anything more until April. But it means a lot to feel genuinely (not begrudgingly) wanted!

Hooray at our house as well. D just got the mail with the acceptance. We are in Ca. Also included the merit scholarship award letter. It is one of her top choices.

My son just received an extremely personalized EA acceptance letter along with a nice Presidential merit scholarship award. Since my husband and I are both alumni, we are especially tickled about this. My niece is currently there as a freshman and loves it. Wondering if they will offer a specific “accepted seniors” visit program or if we should just schedule an overnight when it works for him over spring break.

Hello,
Our DS was accepted today also!

Congrats everyone. I haven’t heard anything yet, but I live in Georgia. Hopefully I get some good news tomorrow! :)

I got my personalized EA acceptance letter yesterday. It says it was sent out on Friday. The letter says I’ll receive an e-mail with login info for theheart, and that’s where I’ll get my financial aid info. Wonder when that will come out?

Here’s what I found:
[Admitted Student Day | Earlham College](http://www.earlham.edu/event/admitted-student-day-2)

I got accepted EA and was awarded a Presidential Honors Scholarship of $8,000 per year.

Parent of an Earlham junior here.

Isn’t that letter just the BEST?

A tip for Admitted Students weekend: If your kids have any particular interests they’d like to check out in more depth – a club, activity, sport – have them contact Admissions. They may be able to pair your student up with a host who’s involved in that activity, so that your student can get the inside scoop and maybe even attend a meeting, practice or event that’s not on the official schedule.

Congrats to you all!

We will be going out for a 2nd look at Earlham in March. For our DS, it will come down to a decision between Earlham and Juniata.

D accepted with Presidential Merit Scholarship. Love love this school but it is too pricey. She received full tuition to Ohio State and we can’t justify taking out loans when we dont have to. But I would have been happy if she could have came here! Good luck all, hope your dreams come true!
