Congratulations to your son ConfusedMominMA! I’m sure he’ll love it, my daughter loves being a Wildcat!

Thanks IcecatMom! We shall see what he ends up deciding but it’s nice to add another voice to the options. We still have 7more to hear from.

Congratulations ConfusedMomMA. I know you an your son have been waiting patiently for a reply to UNH and the other flagship schools in New England. Good luck with the other college decisions.

still waiting on an EA decision … ugh!

My S got into U Maine with a nice scholarship and he liked UNH and UMaine pretty equally, although UNH is much closer to where we live ( MA bordering NH)

anyone else still waiting??

I have read that UNH is in the top 10 of students graduate with the most debt, leading me to assume they are not generous with merit money.
The private schools my son has been accepted to have all been with big money ( 50% tuition scholarships) but he wants a school with a barn which none of the privates have!

We are still waiting as well. My son has also been accepted to U Maine. Also still waiting to hear from URI. Was deferred by UVM.

njmom44-We are waiting to hear from URI also. Their website says decisions by Jan 31st but I don’t know when they start.

For those of you who got money from UNH, when did you find out? Yesterday we got some mail from UNH with the acceptance letter, and info about enrollment deposits but that was it. Does that mean we will not be getting any money? (aside from possible FA later on).

We are waiting on URI also. The admission status says EA decisions will be made mid January… so it shoudl be very soon. Didn’t apply to UVM…

My son’s letter for merit based scholarship came separately than the letter of acceptance. It was about a week later. Congratulations on getting in!

So we still have hope! Thanks!

I was accepted before christmas for early action! For occupational therapy (1430/1600, 2200/2400 stats) and I’m out of state (new york).

I got a $10,000 scholarship which is apparently the most they give for out of state, so I probably can’t afford to go here :(

So if you have gotten no information as of now should i believe that my application was not in early action pool. All of my information has been received by the school as I have called and confirmed it and I postmarked and sent off everything the 15th the last day of the early action deadline. Should i dash my hopes of knowing if I got in or not and mark my calendar for the regular decision date?

Have you asked if they have finished with EA decisions? Or can someone just check your file and tell you whether you are in the EA group or the RD group?

UMass Amherst’s EA deadline was 11/1 and they started sending out decisions 12/17. We still haven’t heard. On Monday we asked Admissions to check on my son’s file. They told us that his decision was sent out the end of last week so we should get our decision this week. Hoping we will hear tomorrow.

All I asked when I called a week or so ago was all early action decisions would be done on the 15th. I extrapolated that at least the website would be updated on that date but I am going to call in tomorrow just to check maybe I was following my own made up false pretenses.

Interesting Howsitgoing because when we called last week we were told they were"committed to having all EA decisions done by THIS Friday 1-18".

It is frustrating to me that every time you call you get a different answer!

Hears to hoping we all get the answers we want today!

Well my only thought would be the Superstorm Sandy really set them back awhile ago. I know they pushed back their early action deadline if you wrote to them asking for the different deadline.

I am to the point where this is my safety school but the only one I hear back from before late March so I would love just a response. I have a 2000/1330 SAT and a 3.6ish gpa so hopefully all goes well I honestly don’t know this schools stats my cousin said he had a good education though and I should be a shoe-in.

You should be more than fine with those stats - what major are you interested in?

Engineering, specifically computer engineering.

New Hampshire wasn’t especially hit by Sandy - it stayed south of here more or less - so I’m thinking that’s not the reason. UNH is a wonderful school - it sounds like with your stats you won’t have trouble being accepted.

No but a significant pool of their applicants were affected by Sandy. So maybe their extended deadline has caused a couple minor issues.

I just called admissions and was told that their goal is to have all decisions made by Friday but then the have to “go to letter prinitng” to it should be by the 25th. :(
