Early Action - Class of 2021

I couldn’t find a thread on this subject, so I’ve decided to start one. The Sewanee website says that early action notifications will be sent in mid-February. Perusing Class of '19 and Class of '21 discussion threads leads me to believe notifications may be sent earlier, like the end of January. Has anyone heard anything or know any dates?

It seems like it may be around January 31 for decision notifications. Last year it looked like it was the 28th and the year prior was the 30th according to old threads. Assuming it will be around then again this year. Excited to hear back from them. Good luck!

On their website, it says January 31, but on the applicant page it says mid February so I’m not sure. Here’s the link to the website: http://e-catalog.sewanee.edu/arts-sciences/admission-expenses-financial-aid/admission/

so Early action applicants get their admission decision by Jan 31 and ED II applicants by Feb 15? or so says the page you suggested @kmg24601 .

P.S. I am an international, EA candidate.

@kmg24601 Interesting. I think the trend of when the decisions were released follows the page that you linked above, so perhaps they just leave extra leeway on the applicant page. I think we can expect it by the 31st, though.

I just got notified of being deferred. I thought my application was really good too.

Decisions are out online. Got my acceptance! A great end to the day. @LLfrth Perhaps they are waiting on your mid-year grades?

D was notified of her acceptance today! She’s over the moon excited. Congrats rubyy and fingers crossed for LLfrth. Letter on website says scholarship info in mid-Feb.

Accepted! Most likely won’t attend, but still LOVE this school!! congrats to all

Accepted! Grateful for a school that considers the whole applicant and more than just scores. Def a top choice.

My daughter got her merit scholarship letter today. She was awarded a Wilkins scholarship, and is very happy.

Marrast, I’m coming a bit late to this thread, but congratulations on your DD’s acceptance and scholarship. Unless you would think it rude of me to ask, would you permit me to inquire about her stats, please? I would be most grateful for any insight you would be kind enough to provide about what it takes to earn Sewanee’s Wilkins awards these days. Many thanks in advance for anything you might pass along.

slachappy, Are you also waiting for admission decision?

@slachappy , D’s stats are listed on the Wake Forest Class of 21 Regular Decision Results Only thread. D visited the school last year, had an interview scheduled but had to cancel due a dual enrollment A&P test (also had to cancel the Scholars Weekend visit for the same reason), and we are Episcopalians. Hope this helps.

marrast, thank you very much and kudos to your daughter for building a fine record. Wake will be lucky to have her. Jeetvai–no, I’m actually inquiring with my daughter in mind. She’s still a couple years out from applying, but has Sewanee on her radar screen. Not sure we could/would swing it absent some merit aid, which is why I’m grateful to marrast for giving me a sense of what it would take to be in the scholarship running.
