Early Action/Decision Class of 2019

Accepted!
I got declined from my ED so this is such a relief for me!

GPA: 34 in IB (I have no clue what that is in GPA, I am guessing like a 3.5?)
ACT: 30 (I didn’t need to send it in, but I was advised to anyways)
I liked my essay, it was the common app essay so nothing special.
A lot of ECs…
Major: Computer Science

I think admission is all about luck to be honest…
International student, I got the email at like 8 GMT, but for some reason it ended up in spam…haha. Try searching for it if you haven’t got it!

deferred from PA. 33 act, 93.5 unweighted gpa, tons of extracurriculars and leadership positions. my essay wasn’t anything spectacular but explained my low grades freshman and sophomore year/unimpressive class rank. months ago i thought of northeastern as a match/somewhat of a safety but i quickly learned that is not the case

Deferred in MA
2030 SAT
3.9 GPA
President of 2 clubs, lots of extracurriculars and volunteer hours, good essay and recs, and a legacy

It was a reach but still pretty upset :(

@singmetosleep15 You’ll see a big Red box with “the wait is over” and underneath "CONGRATULATIONS, (your name)!

deferred with a 2020 SAT, full IB diploma, 3.8 GPA, bunch of ECs

This has been a tough couple of days to swallow, got rejected from my top choice yesterday and then this today

Congrats for thou who got in ! !
when you receive the decision, will the whole status page just change into a letter?

@alden97 how did you do both ED and EA? I thought doing both weren’t allowed, unless you’re talking about SCEA/ EA. But then again, this only applies if you do SCEA to a private university and EA to a state one.

Accepted!
30 act
3.8 w 3.7 uw
4 ap senior year
Extracurriculars
I guess my recs and essay were good.
My admissions counselor liked me when we met idk If that helped any.

@aerosolcan nothing in the admission process makes too much sense to be honest. Some people don’t have good grades and get accepted, whilst some people with great grades don’t. It’s all about luck. Seriously, if the admission officer reading your application was in a better mood, or got into a fight with their kids before coming to work, all unfortunately factor into their decisions hahha. With those sats though, you’ll be fineee

Yes!

Accepted to College of Engineering!!

NY
2120 SAT
4.3 GPA

I’m so confused…Deferred with:
4.2 Weighted GPA
31 ACT
About 400 Hours Community Service
Several Leadership Roles
Varsity Wrestling Team 2 Years
National Honor Society
Shadowing Experience at a Hospital

Do you think I’ll get in RG? :</p>

ACCEPTED
2080 SAT (1470/1600)
3.94GPA (huge upward trend)
tons of EC
common app essay designed to appeal to NEU
OHIO

$12,000 scholarship

how many students get deferred from NE on ea. the letter they said around 3000 get excepted from EA. But they didnt say how many they defer, which seems like a lot…

@ivyhopefulebound Just from like 10 people that I’ve talked to that have applied to NE from my school, 1 got accepted, 1 got denied, and 8 got deferred. I know it’s a small sample size but it seems to be a trend.

Is there a way for me to change my common app essay or send an additional essay?

I was accepted EA from Alabama! ACT 28, GPA 3.9W. So incredibly grateful I can go to my dream school!!! As someone has already mentioned, there’s is definitely hope out there for those of us who aren’t perfect. My essay was great, and I think the quality and quantity of my extracurriculars, volunteer work, and further education is impressive. And to think I had braced myself for the worst… I’ve received $23,800 in financial aid. Proud to be a Husky :)

Officially accepted to Honors Program with $15,000 per year. 33 ACT, 4.0 unweighted GPA, IB diploma, 4 APs, and lots of extracurriculars with leadership roles. (From Ohio btw)

as of now…NE rd seems very stiff in competition now with all these deferrals. Am i right folks?
