My daughter needs to visit. We drove through the beautiful campus this summer but it was empty - so she didn’t get too much of a feel for it. We are waiting for several more decisions and financial information. She wants to go pre-med and got a full tuition scholarship to Fordham - so for a while now she thought that would be her best option. Upon further research we discovered that with their huge core requirement, the premed tract requires you to take 18-20 hrs. per semester. That is sort of ridiculous in my opinion and would eliminate the fun of living in NYC. We would pay the $50K for a 5th year and spread out her classes if that is where she really wants to go but that information is making her consider her other options a little more closely. Trinity is for sure in the running still and we hope to hear about $ from Rhodes soon too.

My daughter received her email yesterday too. We live in San Antonio (until June anyway) and have been on the campus many times. It is her first choice and she is very excited. Her second choice was Hope College in Holland, Michigan. Congrats to all the future Tigers!!

Congrats to all. Dutchmom, sorry for the incorrect spelling before. So for that reason I will not attempt to spell others, just send congrats from the mom of a junior.

Congrats to all who got in… I’m getting anxious and wishing I could just fast forward a bit so I could know where I’ll end up…

I got in too!!! No mention of financial aid, though. Does this mean that I havent got any aid, or will they release the fin. aid figures later?

I Think the aid comes later!

As I understand it the financial aid letter will be send to the students around April 1.

Buriedalie, according to an earlier post Trinity is not your first choice anymore.
So, which college is your first choice?

Manyamile, I noticed that your daughter also applied to Rhodes and was accepted.
Does she have a preference?
Rhodes or Trinity ?

Dutchmom - she has to visit both when the student body is around. She has never been to Rhodes or even Memphis. We live in TX and she has several good friends who have gotten into Trinity so that will be a plus. Our plan was to not visit until she got into places -so we are probably going to spend her spring break looking at schools! I think that both Trinity and Rhodes seem to have very nice, easy-going kids, beautiful campuses and good biology programs. She burned out before applying for the bigger Trinity scholarship and so she will not be in the running for substantial merit! I am so excited to watch her step on a campus and say “Here! - this is where I belong!” - I have heard that is what happens at least?

If things are still done the same way as previous years, merit scholarships were sent with the snail mail notification, but the final award letter including FA is sent in April.

Just got the “official” acceptance letter today. D says “it was very cute” :). I agree. Yes, it says 4/1 for financial info.

Dutchmom: well, Trinity is definitely still a strong contender, I just need to visit again and maybe talk to some current Trinity students to determine whether or not it’s the kind of place where I’d be happy… if I’m not able to go to Trinity, then I’ll almost definitely be going to UT (two extremes, I know…) because I got an honors acceptance there and for several other reasons.

Buriedalie: well, UT is a wonderful school, my oldest daughter attends UT and is part of the PLAN II program.
She is really enjoying her time at UT, and has had some wonderful opportunities.
However, it is big and you definitely have to find your way around, not just physically, but also in connection of where to go for information.

When will my financial aid info arrive? Its like unwrapping the chocolate but holding it out of my reach. Damn.

I think the financial aid package is mailed the end of march.

Accepted. Hell Yeah!

I got deferred. What the… :(

Anyone receiving notifications not mind sharing stats?
