Nervous. Good luck guys!
Does anyone notice anything special about the date and time other than Tau?
@mistergrimsby, 12/12 + 16/16 + 2015/2015 = 3 Half Life 3 confirmed!
@mistergrimsby Boston Tea Party
@apergis Oh yeah, nice
MIT usually releases decisions on times relating to pi, tau etc.
November 10, though early, would also be a good date (release of Fallout 4).
16 (day) * 15 (year) = 240
240 / 12 (month) = 20
'20 would be the college graduation year for people applying this year. Could be just a coincidence though.
Good luck to everyone! Last year, my kid got a Christmas gift early. EA. He blew up the balloons and stuck them in in the hands of a large Santa.
My son '17, applied EA. We were prepared for an acceptance or a rejection but instead his application was deferred. This caused several reactions. One was panic to apply to a few more schools, another was to burnish his application and portfolio, adding accomplishments and a humorous statement of continued interest. Now half way through his junior year, finals week at that, I doubt he has given a thought to that December - but I remember.
is it true that girls have a higher chance in being admitted to MIT or is this just a fallacy
Girls do have a higher acceptance rate, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re less qualified.
Acceptance rates:
12.6% for Females
5.8% for Males
When we visited they did talk about this and said that the female applicants did a better job self selecting so there were less but they were on average more qualified. The acceptance rate is higher for females but the stats are very similar to the males who are accepted. I have a S16 and a D17 and I would have to say even in HS it’s tougher being a female in the upper level STEM classes. Lots of the study groups and project groups are all male and she has to ask to be included and isn’t always welcome. Often even when she is included they want her to make the binder or do the artistic stuff even though she often has the higher grades in the class.
